6 Installing r Upgrading REDACTIVE Single User Installing r Upgrading REDACTIVE Single User Yu can dwnlad the REDACTIVE sftware frm the WatchGuard web site at System requirements The REDACTIVE applicatin is ptimized t efficiently scale in a multicre envirnment. T install and use REDACTIVE, yur cmputer must meet the fllwing minimum requirements: OS System requirements Memry Screen reslutin Windws 7 64-bit Windws bit Intel i7 prcessr r higher 8 GB RAM minimum 1280 x 800 r higher Nte: When wrking with lng vides, WatchGuard Vide recmmends a 16+ cre system with 2 GB memry, r mre, per cre prcessr fr best perfrmance. Upgrading frm versin 1.0 t versin 2.0 If yu are upgrading frm versin 1.0 REDACTIVE t versin 2.0 REDACTIVE: 1. Cmplete any redactin wrk in prgress. 2. Save any vides yu have nt prcessed. 3. Dwnlad and install versin 2.0 REDACTIVE. After dwnlading and pening the sftware, yu can cntinue t wrk n yur vides. 12 Changing Evaluatin License t Paid License Changing Evaluatin License t Paid License Each installatin f WatchGuard Vide REDACTIVE sftware requires a license key specific t the prduct. Imprtant! License keys are distinct between the desktp and the Enterprise versins. If yu switch between the tw n the same machine, yu must reenter the license key. Depending n yur user permissins, yu may nt be able t replace the license file. A "cannt save license data" message appears. If yu encunter this, remve the licenses file at C:\PrgramData\WatchGuard REDACTIVE\licenses. Desktp applicatin When yu buy the permanent versin, WatchGuard Vide prvides yu a license number fr each cpy f yur sftware. This activates the REDACTIVE sftware. It cnverts an evaluatin cpy t a paid licensed versin f the sftware. The evaluatin cpy wrks the same as the paid license cpy. At the end f yur evaluatin perid, yu can n lnger get int the REDACTIVE sftware. Yu will be able t see yur redacted vides with yur cmputer default viewer. Install permanent license while wrking in evaluatin cpy Fllw these steps t activate a permanent cpy f the sftware frm yur evaluatin cpy n yur cmputer: 1. Click the Remve License buttn in Abut t install the paid versin when yur evaluatin license expires. The text in abut tells yu when yur evaluatin license will expire. This lets yu keep wrking in REDACTIVE withut having t reinstall. 13 Mving the sftware and license The Remve License warning dialg appears. 2. Click Remve License t remve yur evaluatin license r click Cancel t cntinue using the evaluatin versin. The license number dialg bx pens. The evaluatin license number nly wrks fr 30 days and cannt be re-entered. 3. Enter the license number fr the permanent licensed cpy. REDACTIVE cntinues with the laded vides with n break in the prcess. Imprtant! If yu have a prblem with yur installatin and have t reinstall, delete the file C:\PrgramData\WatchGuard REDACTIVE\licenses befre prceeding. Mving the sftware and license If yu need t mve yur sftware t anther cmputer: 1. Remve the license n the existing cpy. (Ensure that yu keep a cpy f yur license number.) 2. 14 Getting Started with REDACTIVE Getting Started with REDACTIVE REDACTIVE is an autmated redactin tl that saves yu time when redacting files. It identifies faces but als lets yu manually redact faces and ther bjects and edit the autmated file. WatchGuard ffers an evaluatin cpy and a paid permanent licensed cpy f REDACTIVE. All cpies f REDACTIVE require a serial number that WatchGuard prvides. REDACTIVE runs as an Single-User desktp applicatin and as an Enterprise applicatin fr many users. 16 Getting Started with REDACTIVE Vide playback cntrls Yu can mve arund in the vide using the buttns n the screen r with keybard shrtcuts. This aids in finding any faces the sftware may have missed r lets yu redact ther bjects like license plates. Yu can als see if yu want t split bjects (page 25). Previus frame : Lets yu mve back thrugh the vide, ne frame at a time. Play/pause : Lets yu play the vide at the speed yu select. Clicking again pauses the vide. Next frame : Lets yu mve frward thrugh the vide, ne frame at a time. Vide display speed: Yu can mve thrugh a vide, slwer r faster than nrmal speed. Available speeds are 0.2x, 1x, r 2x; the nrmal speed 1x is the default. Keybard shrtcuts Keybard shrtcuts yu can use t mve arund the vide: Press the frward and backward arrw keys t mve ne frame at a time in a vide (30 frames per secnd) Hld dwn the Shift key and press the frward r backward arrw keys t mve ne secnd at a time Press the space bar t play r pause the vide Clse vide Click Clse vide at any time t return t the main screen. 16 WatchGuard Vide REDACTIVE 2.0 User Guide, Single User Revisin C. With aut redactin, the sftware reduces the amunt f time yu spend selecting and redacting bjects thrughut a vide. Shwn here is a high-level summary f yur tasks. This is a suggested wrkflw. The tasks can vary depending n yur system setup. Yu may perfrm sme f the tasks every time yu wrk in REDACTIVE and thers just nce. 18 REDACTIVE Wrkflw Using REDACTIVE After installing (page 18) REDACTIVE, the first step is t imprt a vide s yu can view it and run REDACTIVE. Yu can preview a vide befre running aut redactin r pen a file already redacted but nt exprted. Yu can lad the redacted data r delete the redacted data and start ver. Imprt and pen a vide These steps take yu thrugh the REDACTIVE prcess. Yu can find Hw-t vides n the WatchGuard web site at Nte: Exprt yur vides frm yur Evidence Library sftware t a flder n yur cmputer and then imprt them in t REDACTIVE. Imprt vides 1. Select File > Open Vide r drag and drp a file frm a flder n yur desktp. If the vide has been redacted in the past, the pp up windw shwn here appears. 21 Run Aut Redactin Run Aut Redactin 1. Select and pen a vide. 2. Click RUN AUTO REDACTION buttn. The Run Aut Redactin windw appears. Yu can chse t wait fr it t finish r run it in the backgrund and cntinue t wrk. If yu have a prcess running, REDACTIVE tells yu hw many prcesses are running. Yur agency determines the number f prcess that can run in the backgrund. When the aut redactin cmpletes the file returns t the screen. 3. Review yur file fr false psitives r t manually add redactin. 22 REDACTIVE Wrkflw Perfrm manual and audi redactin Perfrm manual redactin Yu might want t adjust placement f a bunding bx r redact items ther than faces, such as license plates. Yu can d this with manual redactin. 1. Review yur vide and add rectangular r elliptical utlines manually. Drawing new utlines puts yu in Add new bjects mde. 23 2. Chse Cancel, Static, r Autmatically Track fr each bunding bx yu added. Perfrm audi redactin Cancel: Remves the bunding bx yu've drawn and returns t playback mde Static: Saves the new bunding bx n this frame nly Autmatically Track: Tracks the utlined bject fr as far as it extends in either directin Perfrm audi redactin Yu can als redact audi chsing t submit nly a sectin f the audi. Or, yu can mute the entire vide. 1. Click Redact Audi t bring up a visual display f the audi (page 35). 2. Click Remve All Audi bx t mute all audi fr the event. 3. Click Remve All Audi bx again t restre the audi t the event. 4. Press, hld, and drag the muse acrss the audi display t select the prtin yu want t redact (mute). 24 REDACTIVE Wrkflw 5. Mve the timeline t the psitin yu want t capture. a. Click and drag the audi timeline fr the audi yu want t add, as shwn in the graphic. b. Drag the audi until it cnnects with the first selectin, as shwn by the arrws. Dn't wrry abut verlap. The tw sectins will merge. 25 Edit bjects Edit bjects Yu can edit bunding bxes t change their size, shape, r psitin. Yu can als split bjects and check t see where the first r last frame f a bunding bx is lcated. 1. Drag r resize a bunding bx t change its dimensins. This places REDACTIVE int Edit bjects mde. Yu have tw ptins n what t d with yur mdificatins: Cancel: All changes are undne and the applicatin returns t playback mde. Apply: All changes are saved.0tthe new psitin and size f the bxes are added frward and backward frm the edit pint. The sftware searches and identifies every ccurrence f the subject. 2. 26 REDACTIVE Wrkflw G t first frame: Finds the first frame where this bject (bx) appears. G t last frame: Finds the last frame where this bject appears. Split bject: Split the bject int tw bjects. If yu use labels, the labels change after the split. A way t use this is if yu want t delete a sectin, yu can split tw frames and then delete the sectin in between. Delete bject: Remves the bunding bx. Delete frm here t beginning: Remves the bject frm the frame yu are n t the first frame where it appears. Delete frm here t end: Remves the bject frm the frame yu are n t the last frame where it appears. 3. Select the Start and End times fr the part f the vide yu want t exprt. a. Mve the slider t where yu want the vide t start. b. Click Set t current time fr Start. c. Mve the slider t where yu want the vide t end. d. Click Set t current time fr End. After exprting, when the vide runs in yur default vide player, it nly plays the sectin shwn in green. 32 Understanding REDACTIVE Using REDACTIVE After installing (page 32) REDACTIVE, the first step is t imprt a vide s yu can view it and run REDACTIVE. Yu can preview a vide befre running aut redactin r pen a file already redacted but nt exprted. Yu can lad the redacted data r delete the redacted data and start ver. Running Aut Redactin RUN AUTO REDACTION identifies faces in yur vide. REDACTIVE evaluates each frame fr faces and when it finds a face it searches bth frward and backward within the vide timeline. The prcess is prcessr intensive and can take sme time t cmplete. The amunt f time depends upn yur system speed. After the prcess is cmplete, review the vide t make sure all faces are redacted. Yu may have t d sme manual cleanup. The aut redactin prcess can pick up false psitives, such as the wheel shwn here. 33 Running Aut Redactin Yu have fur ptins n the bunding bx n the steering wheel. Delete bject - remves the bunding bx frm the file Delete t beginning - remves the bunding bx frm this pint t the beginning The next frame thrugh the end f the vide still cntains the bunding bx. Delete t end - remves the bunding bx frm this pint t the end The previus frame thrugh the beginning f the vide still cntains the bunding bx. Split bject - splits the bunding bx int tw separate bjects - ne ges t the beginning, ne ges t the end If yu are using labels, they are different fr the split bject. Overlaps and mvements may cause the utlines nt align crrectly n faces as shwn here. Yu can use the edit feature t crrect the misplacement. Because the light clred bunding bx (#6) is identified with a face that is behind the first persn, yu wuld remve the #6 bunding bx frm this psitin. 34 Understanding REDACTIVE Identifying faces with Aut Redactin Run Aut Redactin (page 21) autmatically searches fr faces in the vide. Each detected face is tracked thrughut the vide. Tip: REDACTIVE perfrms with mre accuracy using high definitin (HD) versus standard definitin (SD) vides. Shwn here is the same vide captured with a VISTA Wearable Camera. One vide is set t HD and ne t SD. Nte: Yu can run autmatic redactin nly nce n a vide. When yu clse the vide, yu can repen it and delete the redactin data and run autmatic redactin again. Identifying faces and bjects with manual redactin Yu can draw ne r mre bxes r ellipses in a frame when yu pause the vide. Drawing new utlines puts yu in Add new bjects mde (page 22). New utlines are shwn in yellw t distinguish them frm utlines that were drawn when yu ran aut redactin. In aut redactin nly faces were identified. Yu may want t redact ther bjects, such as license plates r dcumentatin. Yu can chse Cancel, Static, r Autmatically Track t finish yur manual drawing. 35 Editing bjects Fr mre infrmatin Running Manual and Audi Redactin (page 22) Editing bjects As yu are reviewing yur vide, sme bunding bxes may be ut f alignment. Yu can resize, mve, r delete the bunding bx and draw in new nes. If yu select the bunding bx, this puts yu in Edit Objects mde. After yu make changes, yu can either: Cancel: Yur change is undne and the applicatin returns t playback mde Apply: All changes are saved; the new psitin and size f the bunding bxes are added frward and backward frm the edit pint REDACTIVE searches and identifies every ccurrence f the bject that is in the same psitin after yu make yur change. It applies the change as far as pssible in bth directins. Fr mre infrmatin... Hw t Edit Objects (page 25) Audi redactin Redact Audi tggles the audi wavefrm timeline display. The wavefrm is lcally nrmalized fr better editing visibility s that ne large peak in the vide will nt cause the entirety f the wavefrm t flatline. The vide cntains all audi if it is available. 36 Understanding REDACTIVE Yu can als mute the audi fr the entire vide using Remve All Audi. Click Remve All Audi again t unmute. The redactin clrs are nly available fr Outline and Fill. Fill: Cvers the subject with a slid clr, bscuring the face. Yu can chse the fill clr frm the Redactin Clr selectin. 39 Exprt Range Exprt Range If yu d nt want t exprt the entire vide, yu can select which part f the vide yu want t exprt. Yu set the slider bar t where yu want t start yur selectin and stp it where yu want t end yur selectin. (page 28). View Optins The View Optins selectins change the display f the utlines while in REDACTIVE. View ptins cannt be run n an exprted vide. The tw ptins include: Multiclred bjects: displays utlines in a range f clrs t allw easy and immediate differentiatin f bjects. Shw bject labels: Overlays a number n the bunding bx aiding in bject differentiatin. The default is n fr bth multiclred bjects and labels. Advanced setting Yu can run cncurrent aut redactins and cntinue t wrk n ther vides at the same time. Running multiple aut redactins, can slw the perfrmance f yur system. 41 Errr messages Errr messages Starting REDACTIVE Errrs Errr Message Descriptin Reslutin Activatin failed (server unreachable) Yur machine cannt reach the license server. The server may be ffline. Check that yu can access the website frm the machine where REDACTIVE is laded. REDACTIVE must be prxy aware. If yes, cntact WatchGuard supprt t check if the server is prxy aware. Invalid serial number entered. Please recheck and try again. Activatin failed (serial number invalid) Yu entered the license number incrrectly. The license number is entered crrectly but it is nt available n the server r des nt allw mre activatins. If n, yu may have t whitelist the dmain r check the firewall. (A whitelist is an index f apprved applicatins, n yur OS, that are explicitly permitted t run.) Re-enter the license number prvided by WatchGuard Vide. This happens if: - the license number is fr an evaluatin cpy and the license has been activated r expired - the prductin license is n lnger valid Check with yur administratr r WatchGuard supprt.
