SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Moeler lso inlues the XML Eitor, whih you n use s n lterntive wy to onstrut your moel. Working with Projets in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio A projet onsists of one or more ontinuous queries. You n use SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio to rete, uplo, ownlo, n elete SAS Event Strem Proessing projets. You n ssoite your projet with n engine efine in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio. For more informtion, see Creting Engine Definitions on pge 12. Overview The Projets pge in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio enles you to view the projets in your eployment, long with their ientifition etils n ssoite engines.

8 8 The Projets Pge Note: You n ess the Mnge Test Servers winow from the Projets pge, enling you to register itionl test servers or to isply the etils of existing test servers. To o this, lik n selet Mnge test servers from the rop-own list. For more informtion, see Mnging Test Servers in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio on pge 23. Creting Projets To rete new projet: 1 On the Projets pge, lik. The New Projet winow ppers. 2 In the New Projet winow, o the following: e In the Nme fiel, enter nme for the projet. In the Desription fiel, enter esription for the projet. In the Tgs fiel, enter ny ientifying keywors tht esrie the projet. In the Notes fiel, enter ny extr informtion relting to the projet. Clik OK. If you o not urrently hve ny test servers onfigure, you re prompte to eie whether you wnt to onfigure test server now.

9 9 f Clik Yes to onfigure test server now or lik No to onfigure test server lter. 3 If you hose to onfigure test server now, o the following: e f g In the Nme fiel, enter nme to ientify the new test server tht you wnt to rete. In the Host fiel, enter the host nme or IP ress of the server ontining the new test server. In the HTTP port fiel, enter the new test server s ministrtion port numer. If require, in the Tgs fiel, enter ny ientifying keywors tht esrie the new test server. If require, hnge the setting for the Authentition fiel: None: This is the efult option. Authentite using n OAuth token: This option is relevnt only if the test server is onfigure to require uthoriztion. If you selet this option, n itionl fiel ppers where you must enter the OAuth token. Authentite using user nme n psswor: This option is relevnt only if the test server is onfigure to require uthoriztion. If you selet this option, itionl fiels pper where you must enter the user nme n psswor. If require, selet the Connet using SSL hek ox. Seleting this option is relevnt only if the test server is onfigure to require SSL enryption. Clik OK. Note: To register itionl test servers or to isply the etils of the test server tht you hve selete, in SAS Event Strem Proessing Moeler, lik Mnge Test Servers in the Test Server rop-own list. 4 Clik OK. SAS Event Strem Proessing Moeler ppers. Your projet is rete with set of efult properties. Before you strt reting your moel, it is reommene tht you onfigure your projet s properties. To onfigure your new projet s properties: Review the efult projet properties in the right pne n moify them if neessry. You n lso or moify itionl projet properties, suh s SAS Miro Anlyti Servie moules, user-efine properties, n onnetor orhestrtion. 5 Clik. Note: To rete opy of the projet with ifferent filenme, lik the Sve As winow n lik OK.. Enter the relevnt informtion into Uploing Projets To uplo n existing projet: 1 On the Projets pge, lik n selet Uplo. The Uplo Projet winow ppers. 2 In the File fiel, lik Choose File.

10 10 3 Nvigte to the file ontining the projet tht you wnt to uplo n lik Open. 4 In the Nme fiel, renme the projet if neessry. 5 In the Desription fiel, enter esription for the projet. If the projet tht you re uploing ontins projet esription, the Desription fiel is utomtilly populte with tht text. The projet esription must e ontine in esription element tht is lote iretly within the projet element. 6 In the Tgs fiel, enter ny ientifying keywors tht esrie the projet. 7 Clik OK. The uploe projet ppers on the Projets pge. Downloing Projets To ownlo projet, selet the projet tht you wnt to ownlo from the tle on the Projets pge, lik, n selet Downlo. The projet is ownloe to your omputer. Note: The lotion of the ownloe projet might vry epening on your rowser s onfigurtion. Deleting Projets To elete projet, selet the projet tht you wnt to elete from the tle on the Projets pge n lik. Clik OK to onfirm the eletion. The projet is permnently elete from SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio. Working with Engine Definitions in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio An engine is the top-level ontiner in the SAS Event Strem Proessing moel hierrhy. Eh moel ontins only one engine instne with unique nme. You n use SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio to rete, uplo, ownlo, n elete SAS Event Strem Proessing engine efinitions. You n ssoite eh projet tht you proue or uplo with n engine efinition in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio. Overview The Engine Definitions pge in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio enles you to view ll opertionl engines in your eployment, long with their ientifition etils. You n view list of the engine s ssoite projets in the Assoite Projets tile.

11 11 The Engine Definitions Pge Doule-liking on n engine efinition isplys n engine efinition pge. This pge onsists of n Ientifition tile ontining ientifying informtion out the engine efinition n n Assoite Projets tile enling you to ssoite the engine efinition with one or more projets. Assoiting n engine efinition with one or more projets is useful when exeuting multiple projets s single tion y grouping the projets within n engine. This enles you to reuse projets without hving to re-rete iniviul projets within eh new engine.

12 12 An Engine Definition Pge Creting Engine Definitions To rete new engine efinition: 1 On the Engine Definitions pge, lik. The New Engine Definition winow ppers. 2 In the Engine efinition nme fiel, enter nme for the engine efinition tht you re reting. 3 Clik OK. Your engine efinition is rete, n n Engine Definition pge ppers. 4 Review the informtion in the Ientifition tile. the Nme fiel ontins the engine efinition s nme in the Desription fiel, enter esription for the engine efinition tht you re reting in the Tgs fiel, enter ny keywors tht esrie the engine efinition tht you re reting upte ny other fiels s require 5 Assoite projets with your engine efinition: In the Assoite Projets pne, lik. Uploing Engine Definitions To uplo n engine efinition: 1 On the Engine Definitions pge, lik n selet Uplo. The Uplo Engine Definition winow ppers. 2 In the File fiel, lik Choose File. 3 Nvigte to the file ontining the engine efinition tht you wnt to uplo n lik Open. 4 In the Engine efinition nme fiel, if neessry, just the nme of the engine efinition tht you re uploing. 5 In the Desription fiel, enter esription for the engine efinition tht you re uploing. 6 In the Tgs fiel, enter ny keywors tht esrie the engine efinition tht you re uploing. 7 Clik OK. 14 14 Using SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Moeler Overview SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Moeler enles you to onstrut, hnge, n test SAS Event Strem Proessing moels. A moel speifies how SAS Event Strem Proessing engine nlyzes n then trnsforms input event strems into meningful results. SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Moeler ppers when you rete new projet or open n existing projet. SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Moeler Note: You n inrese or erese the mgnifition of your moel y using the zoom uttons. Clik inrese the mgnifition n lik so tht the entire moel ppers in the workspe, lik. to erese the mgnifition. To just the mgnifition of your moel The moeler isplys one ontinuous query t time. When you rete new moel, ontinuous query nme q1 is rete y efult. To onstrut your moel, you must onfigure t lest one ontinuous query. For more informtion out onfiguring ontinuous queries, see Configuring Continuous Queries in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio on pge 21. Note: To selet multiple winows in your moel, press Ctrl n then lik n rg the ursor to selet eh winow. To pn your moel, lik nywhere in the workspe n then rg the ursor in the pproprite iretion. to

15 15 Configuring Moel s Test Server When you rete moel, if you o not hve ny test servers onfigure, you re prompte to eie whether you wnt to onfigure test server. If you eie to rete test server, the test server tht you rete eomes the moel s efult test server n ppers in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Moeler: If you wnt to test your moel in test moe, you must rete test server n ssign it to your moel. However, reting test server is optionl when viewing or eiting moel. For more informtion out testing your moel, see Testing Moels in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio on pge 22. If you hve multiple test servers onfigure, you n hnge the test server ssoite with your moel y seleting n lterntive test server from the Test server rop-own list. Note: Funtionlity will e limite if you open moel tht oes not hve test server ssigne to it. For exmple, onnetor properties re unville to moels tht o not hve test servers ssigne to them. To mnge your test servers, selet Mnge test servers from the Test server rop-own list. For more informtion out mnging test servers, see Mnging Test Servers in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio on pge 23. Aing Winows To winows to the urrently isplye ontinuous query, rg winow from the Winows pne on the left to the workspe. The winows re groupe into the following tegories: Input Strems Trnsformtions Utilities Anlytis To use these winows, you must hve liense for SAS Event Strem Proessing Anlytis. If you o not hve liense, you n onstrut moel, ut you nnot exeute the moel on n ESP server. Text Anlytis To use some of these winows, you must hve liense for SAS Contextul Anlysis (Text Ctegory winow n Text Context winow) or SAS Sentiment Anlysis (Text Sentiment winow). If you o not hve liense, you n onstrut moel, ut you nnot exeute the moel on n ESP server. You must ensure tht you enter vli properties for eh winow. Entering invli winow properties uses the winow to isply ion. In ition, the right pne isplying the winow s properties isplys wrning messge. Here is n exmple of moel where the Join winow ontins invli properties:

You n use the XML Eitor to renme winow. To o this, selet the winow tht you wnt to renme in the workspe n then hnge the winow s nme in the XML Eitor. CAUTION! Mnully eiting your moel s XML oe using the XML Eitor n result in n invli moel. Using SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Moeler to onstrut your moel limits the possiility of your moel ontining invli XML oe. You must orret ny invli XML in the XML Eitor efore you n swith k to the Properties pne. Chnges tht you mke mnully in the XML Eitor re not lwys reflete in the workspe.

19 Using the XML Eitor to renme winow without first seleting it results in the winow eing reple y new winow in efult position on the workspe. This invlites your moel. Any onnetions to or from the reunnt winow must then e elete n then re-rete in the workspe. To isply the entire projet s XML gin, lik. If you hve ssoite projet with n engine, the XML oe tht speifies the engine is not inlue in the projet's XML oe. This informtion is inste inlue s mett in the SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio tse. Cliking n re of white spe in your workspe relos the XML Eitor to isply the XML relting to your moel s ontinuous query. If you wnt to omment to your XML oe, you must ensure tht the omment is enlose within its relevnt XML element. If you o not, the omment will pper t the top of the XML Eitor the next time the XML oe is utomtilly reorere. The XML oe is utomtilly reorere to mintin onsisteny with the SAS Event Strem Proessing shem. When moel is rete, optionl ttriutes re not inlue in its XML oe. Moels lso ontin settings tht re not iretly speifie in the moel s XML oe, ut they re represente in the user interfe. For exmple, if Soure winow hs efult winow stte of (inherit from query) pi_hash, the implie setting is not isplye in the XML oe. See the exmple shown here:

In the Output Shem winow, lik to open the Copy Fiels from Input Shem winow. Selet the shem fiels tht you wnt to opy n lik OK. Alterntively, you n use the XML Eitor to opy n pste the fiels etween the winows. Note: This funtionlity is not ville for winow types where it is not pproprite for shem fiels to e opie from nother winow. For exmple, you nnot opy shem fiels to or from winows tht hve implie or internlly generte shems. Configuring Continuous Queries in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Continuous queries llow SAS Event Strem Proessing engines to nlyze n mnipulte t. Continuous queries re queries tht run utomtilly n perioilly on t in rel time. SAS Event Strem Proessing moels must ontin t lest one ontinuous query. SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Moeler retes ontinuous query q1 y efult. You n then n onfigure winows within this ontinuous query. Your moel n ontin mny ontinuous queries. Your ontinuous query must ontin t lest one Soure winow. Soure winows onnet to one or more erive winows (for exmple, Pttern or Join winow). After you hve rete Soure winow, you n then erive winows to your moel. To onfigure the properties of ontinuous query: 1 On the Projets pge, right-lik the projet tht ontins the ontinuous query tht you wnt to onfigure, n selet Open Projet. SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio Moeler ppers. The right pne isplys the projet s properties. 2 Clik on the toolr. The right pne isplys the properties of the ontinuous query tht you selete when the projet ws lst sve. 3 Configure the fiels s require. To new ontinuous query to your moel, lik on the toolr n selet A ontinuous query. You n lso elete ontinuous queries from your moel y seleting Delete ontinuous query.

The Continuous Query Drop-own List on the Toolr Testing Moels in SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio You n use SAS Event Strem Proessing Stuio to verify tht your moel opertes s intene. You n nlyze how inoming t is trnsforme into meningful resulting event strems onsume y susriers. Note: An engine is the top level ontiner in the SAS Event Strem Proessing moel hierrhy n n ontin one or more projets. A projet n ontin one or more ontinuous queries. When you re running moel in test moe, only the projet is teste. Test moe oes not test engines. 1 On the Projets pge, right-lik the projet ontining the moel tht you wnt to test. 2 Selet Open projet from the menu. The projet ppers in new pge. 3 Clik.
