2 Overview Paragn II release 4.7 prvides a significant enhancement t the Multiple Vide feature. In this release, the feature has been expanded t sixteen channels and user prts. Additinally, several issues reprted by Paragn II custmers have been addressed. Details fllw in this dcument. 3 New Feature Paragn II prvides a feature knwn as Multiple Vide (r called Prt-Fllwing Switch) that enables up t fur user statins t simultaneusly receive the vide utput f a server that has multiple vide prts r frm different servers. Prir t this release, a maximum f fur channels and/r fur user prts culd be used with Multiple Vide. Versin 4.7 prvides a majr enhancement t the Multiple Vide feature. Multiple Vide nw allws a Paragn II user t send vide frm a single server r multiple servers t up t fifteen ther user prts that have been defined in a pre-cnfigured grup. Several vide grups f 16 can be cnfigured. The grups are pre-arranged in Paragn Manager and shwn in the OSD with a special clr t indicate channels that are part f a grup and nt related t a physical channel. When user 1 accesses a particular channel, the remaining 15 user prts in the grup receive vide frm a specific channel as cnfigured. Only the primary user has keybard and muse cntrl. When the primary user switches t anther pre-arranged channel, users in the grup receive the vide frm the new channel. The existing vide will remain until the channel is switched. If the primary user switches t a standard channel (nt in a pre-arranged grup), the vide fr the ther users remains unchanged. When the primary user wishes t disengage the ther users frm receiving the vide, a ht key sequence is used. The vide displayed befre the ht key sequence will remain the same (except fr the primary user) and fllwers regain access t keybard functinality n the target assciated with this vide. Fllwers then regain full functinality and are able t access ther targets individually. Feature Ntes: The user prts in a Multiple Vide grup must be lcated in the same P2-UMT base unit switch. Use f this feature requires the use f the Paragn II P2-UMT1664 switch. If using the P2-HUBPAC, each "switch prt" f the same five-prt cluster f the P2-HUBPAC must be attached t a different Paragn base unit P2-UMT. Tiered and stacked cnfiguratins are supprted. This feature is supprted fr use with Paragn II CIMs nly, excluding P2-ZCIM s and BladeCenter CIMs. Paragn I CIMs are nt supprted fr use with this feature. Paragn II 4.7 Release Ntes. 4 Special Ntes (General) 1. The UKVMSPD, which is a Paragn I Z-CIM, became incmpatible with Paragn II as f release Custmers that wish t cntinue using the UKVMSPD in its Z-CIM capacity shuld nt upgrade t r future Paragn II releases. Additinally, please be aware f the fllwing: If a UKVMSPD user has upgraded their Paragn II cmpnents t 4.4.1, they shuld rll back t 4.4. Prir releases are prvided alng with the current ne at If a UKVMSPD user desires t upgrade t and requires the use f Z-CIMs, they will need t replace them. The direct replacement fr the UKVMSPD is the P2ZCIM-PS2. Fr USB cnnectins, the P2ZCIM-USB is als available. Nte that replacements fr the UKVMSPD will be prvided under warranty nly if the custmer is required t upgrade t in rder t fix a serius system issue. The UKVMSPD can cntinue t be used fr its lcal PC access feature, in which the CIM is cnnected t the I/O prts f a PC lcated near the Paragn user statin, thereby enabling access frm the user statin t bth the PC and the Paragn switch. The Paragn II Z-CIMs (P2ZCIM-PS2 and P2ZCIM-USB) d nt supprt the lcal PC feature. 2. Using Cmb Keybards: Many keybards sld tday have USB prts built int them, allwing fr the use f a variety f peripherals. In many cases, users have begun t utilize these USB prts fr the purpse f cnnecting a muse. It s imprtant t nte that the Paragn II user statin s USB prts may nly be used fr cnnecting ne keybard and ne muse. If a muse is cnnected t the keybard, the secnd USB prt n the user statin autmatically deactivates. In ther wrds, if the keybard and muse is cnnected thrugh ne USB prt, the user statin has reached its keybard/muse limit and cannt accept anther I/O device in the pen prt.
