11 Get Started The fllwing tpics give yu all the infrmatin yu need t set up yur phne and wireless service the first time. Yur Phne at a Glance The fllwing illustratin utlines yur phne s primary external features and keys. Set Up Yur Phne Yu must first install and charge the battery t begin setting up yur phne. Install the Battery Install the battery in the phne. 1. Using the slt prvided, gently lift the cver. 2. Insert the battery, making sure t align the gld cntacts n the battery with the gld cntacts in the phne. Get Started 1

12 3. Replace the cver, making sure all the tabs are secure and there are n gaps. Charge the Battery After yu install the battery, charge it befre using yur phne. Nte: Yur phne s battery shuld have enugh charge fr the phne t turn n and find a signal, run the setup applicatin, set up vic , and make a call. Yu shuld fully charge the battery as sn as pssible. 1. Plug the USB cable int the charger/accessry jack n the bttm f the phne. 2. Plug the USB cable int the charging head, and then plug the charging head int an electrical utlet. Activate Yur Phne T activate yur Sprint Prepaid service, yu must register yur phne nline. Get Started 2

13 Register Yur Phne n Sprint Prepaid 1. Frm yur cmputer's brwser, visit sprint.cm/prepaidactivate. 2. Chse an activatin ptin and click Next, and then enter yur ZIP cde and click Next. 3. When prmpted, enter the serial number (MEID DEC) printed n the label n yur phne's packaging. 4. Fllw the instructins t select a plan and payment methd. If yu're swapping phnes r bringing yur number ver frm a different carrier, fllw the prmpts t sign in r prvide additinal infrmatin. 5. Cntinue t fllw the instructins t prgram yur phne. Once yu see the Cngrats page, yur phne and plan are activated. T cnfirm activatin, make a phne call. If yur phne is still nt activated, visit sprint.cm/prepaidsupprt fr assistance. Activate Yur Phne After cmpleting the accunt setup n sprint.cm/prepaidactivate, simply turn yur phne n. It is designed t activate autmatically. Press and hld the Pwer/Lck Key t turn yur phne n. Yur phne is designed t activate autmatically. When yu turn the phne n fr the first time, yu shuld see a Hands Free Activatin screen, which may be fllwed by a PRL Update screen and a Firmware Update screen. Fllw the nscreen instructins t cntinue. If yur phne is still nt activated, visit sprint.cm/prepaidsupprt fr assistance. If yu d nt have access t the Internet, call Sprint Custmer Service at frm anther phne. Cmplete the Setup After yu activate yur phne, fllw the prmpts t set up yur Ggle Accunt and preferences. Fr best results, activate yur phne befre starting the setup prcess. Nte: During setup, yu may see a ntice abut Cnnectins Optimizer. Cnnectins Optimizer helps yu manage and enhance yur data experience by finding and cnnecting t remembered Wi- Fi netwrks n yur device, and if applicable, the 4G netwrk. 1. After yu activate yur phne, yu ll see the Welcme screen. Chse a language, and then fllw the nscreen instructins t cmplete each sectin. Fr each tpic, yu will have an ptin t skip it and cntinue t the next screen. Get Started 3

14 Wi-Fi: Yu can chse t cnnect t Wi-Fi t cmplete setup, instead f yur phne s wireless netwrk cnnectin. Select an available Wi-Fi netwrk, and then fllw the prmpts t cnnect. Gt Ggle?: Fllw the prmpts t sign in t yur current Ggle Accunt, r sign up fr a new Ggle Accunt right frm yur phne. Tap Yes t enter yur Gmail address and passwrd and then tap the right arrw t sign in t yur current Ggle Accunt. Tap N t sign up fr a new Ggle Accunt. Tap Get an accunt, and then fllw prmpts t set up yur new accunt. Backup and Restre: Select yur Ggle Accunt backup settings. If yu're signing in with an existing Ggle Accunt, yu can chse t restre yur Ggle Accunt infrmatin, such as apps, bkmarks, Wi-Fi passwrds, and cntacts, t yur new phne. Yu can als chse t keep yur new phne backed up with yur Ggle Accunt. Ggle & lcatin: Select ptins fr allwing Ggle and ther apps t use yur lcatin infrmatin. This phne belngs t: Enter yur name. Yur phne uses yur name t persnalize sme features. Ggle services: Learn abut Ggle s privacy plicy and ther terms. 2. At the Drpbx screen, select an ptin and fllw the nscreen instructins. Create a new Drpbx accunt: Tap t set up a Drpbx accunt t save yur phts and vides t a Web-based strage area. I already have an accunt: Tap t sign in t yur current Drpbx accunt. N thanks: Tap t skip the Drpbx setup screens. 3. That s it, yur phne is nw ready t use. Set Up Vic Yu shuld set up yur Sprint Vic and persnal greeting as sn as yur phne is activated. Always use a passwrd t prtect against unauthrized access. Yur phne autmatically transfers all unanswered calls t yur vic , even if yur phne is in use r turned ff. Nte: Vic Passwrd Sprint strngly recmmends that yu create a passwrd when setting up yur vic t prtect against unauthrized access. The fllwing tpics will intrduce the basic functins and features f yur phne. Yur Phne s Layut The fllwing illustratins utline yur phne s basic layut. Key Functins The fllwing list defines the features listed in the abve illustratins. LED indicatr glws r blinks in different clrs t shw status when the screen is turned ff. The LED glws red when charging, and blinks red when the battery is lw; blinks blue when a ntificatin has arrived, r when yu are recrding vice; and glws green when the battery is fully charged and the phne is attached t a charger. Earpiece lets yu hear the caller and autmated prmpts during calls. Prximity and Light Sensrs detect the presence f bjects near the phne, and light cnditins. 18 Pwer/Lck Key lets yu turn the phne n r ff, turn the screen n r ff, r lck the screen. Press and hld fr a Device ptins menu, where yu can turn the phne ff r restart it, r fr easy access t Airplane mde, Mute, Vibrate, and Sund mdes. Back Key lets yu return t the previus screen, r clse a dialg bx, ptins menu, the Ntificatin panel, r nscreen keybard. Hme Key returns yu t the Hme screen. Press and hld t see recent apps, and access Task Manager and Ggle Nw. Menu Key allws yu t access a menu frm mst f yur phne s screens. Vlume Key adjusts the vlume f yur phne s sunds. Frm the Hme screen, press t adjust master vlume. During calls r playback, press t adjust vlume. Press t mute the ringtne f an incming call. Camera lets yu take pictures and recrd vides. Flash helps illuminate subjects in lw-light envirnments when the camera is fcusing and capturing a pht r vide. Micrphnes allw ther callers t hear yu when yu are using the speakerphne, and captures sund during recrding. 3.5 mm Headset Jack allws yu t plug in either a stere headset r an ptinal headset (nt included) fr cnvenient, hands-free cnversatins. Speaker plays ringtnes and sunds. The speaker als lets yu hear the caller s vice in speakerphne mde. USB Charger/Accessry Prt allws yu t cnnect the phne charger/usb cable (included) and ther ptinal accessries (nt included). Cautin: Inserting an accessry int the incrrect jack may damage the phne. Turn Yur Phne On and Off The instructins belw explain hw t turn yur phne n and ff. Press and hld the Pwer/Lck Key. Yur screen remains blank while yur phne is ff (unless the battery is charging). Turn Yur Screen On and Off Yu can quickly turn the screen ff when nt in use and turn it back n and unlck it when yu need it. Turn the Screen Off When Nt in Use T quickly turn the screen ff, press the Pwer/Lck Key. Phne Basics 8

19 T save battery pwer, the phne autmatically turns ff the screen after a certain perid f time when yu leave it idle. Yu will still be able t receive messages and calls while the phne s screen is ff. Nte: Fr infrmatin n hw t adjust the time befre the screen turns ff, see Screen Timeut. Turn the Screen On and Unlck It 1. Press the Pwer/Lck Key. 2. Swipe the screen in any directin t unlck the screen. If yu have set up a screen lck, yu will be prmpted t draw the pattern r enter the passwrd r PIN. See Screen Lck. Tuchscreen Navigatin Yur phne s tuchscreen lets yu cntrl actins thrugh a variety f tuch gestures. Tap When yu want t type using the nscreen keybard, select items nscreen such as applicatin and settings icns, r press nscreen buttns, simply tap them with yur finger. Tuch and Hld T pen the available ptins fr an item (fr example, a cntact r link in a Web page), tuch and hld the item. Phne Basics 9

20 Swipe r Slide T swipe r slide means t quickly drag yur finger vertically r hrizntally acrss the screen. Phne Basics 10

21 Drag T drag, tuch and hld yur finger with sme pressure befre yu start t mve yur finger. While dragging, d nt release yur finger until yu have reached the target psitin. Flick Flicking the screen is similar t swiping, except that yu need t swipe yur finger in light, quick strkes. This finger gesture is always in a vertical directin, such as when flicking the cntacts r message list. Phne Basics 11

22 Rtate Fr mst screens, yu can autmatically change the screen rientatin frm prtrait t landscape by turning the phne sideways. When entering text, yu can turn the phne sideways t bring up a bigger keybard. Phne Basics 12

23 Nte: The Aut rtate check bx needs t be selected fr the screen rientatin t autmatically change. T make this selectin, press and then tap > Settings > My device > Display > Aut rtate screen. See Aut Rtate Screen fr mre infrmatin. Pinch and Spread "Pinch" the screen using yur thumb and frefinger t zm ut r "spread" the screen t zm in when viewing a picture r a Web page. (Mve fingers inward t zm ut and utward t zm in.) Phne Basics 13

24 Tip: Pinching any Hme screen will let yu see thumbnails f all seven Hme screens. Tap a thumbnail t g straight t anther Hme screen. Multi Windw Multi Windw allws yu t use tw apps n the same screen, in separate, resizable windws. Enable Multi Windw Enable Multi windw in the Display settings. 1. Press, and then tap > Settings > My device > Display. 2. Tap the check bx beside Multi windw t enable r disable the ptin. Display Multi Windw After yu enable Multi windw in Display settings, yu can cntrl whether Multi windw displays n the screen fr easy access t its features. When Multi Windw is enabled, it displays n the left side f the screen by default. Yu can drag the tab alng the side f the screen, r tap the tab t pen Multi Windw, and then drag Multi windw t anther edge f the screen (tp, bttm, r side). Phne Basics 14

Yu can launch apps frm Multi windw, r drag an app t the screen t run multiple apps at the same time. The apps display tgether n a split screen. Yu can switch between apps and adjust the size f their display n the screen. Yu can als use these Multi Windw ptins: Launch Multiple Apps: When yu drag an app frm Multi windw n tp f an pen app, bth apps display in a split windw. While using ne app, tuch the tab t display Multi Windw, and then tuch and drag an app t the screen. Adjust the Size f Apps in Multi Windw: While using Multi Windw, yu can adjust the size f the tw apps n the screen. Tuch and drag t a new psitin. Drag cntent frm ne app t the ther: In selected apps, yu can yu can drag text r images between apps. Tap > t select cntent and drag it t the ther app. Switch Multi Windw App Psitins: While using Multi Windw, yu can switch the psitin f the app windws n the screen. Tap >. Make a Multi Windw App full-screen: Tap ne f the apps, and then tap > t make the app display full-screen. Open a recent app in Multi Windw: Yu can switch frm ne app t a previus app. Tap > t chse a different app. Clse an app: Clse ne app, and make the ther full-screen. Tap >. Yur Hme Screen The hme screen is the starting pint fr yur phne s applicatins, functins, and menus. Yu can custmize yur hme screen by adding applicatin icns, shrtcuts, flders, widgets, and mre. Creating Shrtcuts Learn hw t add, mve, r remve items frm the hme screen. Adding Items frm the Applicatins Menu 1. Press, and then tap Apps. 2. Tuch and hld an applicatin icn, and then drag it t a Hme screen. 3. Release the screen t lck the new shrtcut int its new psitin n the Hme screen. Adding Items frm the Hme screen 1. Press t display the Hme screen. 2. Tuch and hld an empty area f the Hme screen, and then chse Apps and widgets. 3. Tuch and hld the applicatin icn, and then drag it t a Hme screen. Release the icn t lck it n the screen. Remving a Shrtcut 1. Press t display the Hme screen. 2. Tuch and hld the desired shrtcut, and then drag it t the Remve icn and release it. As yu place the shrtcut int the Trash, bth items turn red. Nte: This actin des nt delete the applicatin; it simply remves the shrtcut frm the Hme screen. Adding and Remving Primary Shrtcuts Yu can change any f yur primary shrtcuts with the exceptin f the Apps shrtcut. The primary shrtcuts are the bttm rw f app shrtcuts that remain static n all hme screens (by default Phne, Cntacts, Messaging, Internet, and Apps). Adding and Remving Widgets Widgets are self-cntained applicatins that reside either in yur Widgets tab r n the main r extended Hme screens. Unlike a shrtcut, the Widget appears as an nscreen applicatin. Widgets can include Cntacts shrtcuts, bkmarks, Facebk status windws, Gmail and accunts, and many ther types f apps. Adding a Widget 1. Press t display the Hme screen. 2. Tuch and hld an empty area f the Hme screen, and then chse Apps and widgets > Widgets. 3. Tuch a widget, and then drag it t a Hme screen. Release the widget t lck it n the screen. Remving a Widget 1. Press t display the Hme screen. 2. Tuch and hld the desired widget, and then drag it t the Remve icn. Call Using the Keypad The mst traditinal way t place a call is by using the phne s dialer screen. 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Tap the number keys n the keypad t enter the phne number. As yu enter digits, matching cntacts display. If yu see the number yu want t dial, tap it t select the number withut entering the rest f the digits. 3. Tap t call the number. 4. T end the call, tap. Call frm Lgs All incming, utging and missed calls are recrded in the Call lg. Yu can place a call t numbers r cntacts that display in this area. 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Tap the Lgs tab. Call Emergency Numbers Place calls t emergency services, even when yur phne s screen is lcked r yur accunt is restricted. Press and tap Phne, and then tap. T call the emergency number when the phne s screen is lcked with a screen lck: Frm the lck screen, tap Emergency call. Enhanced (E 9-1-1) Infrmatin This phne features an embedded Glbal Psitining System (GPS) chip necessary fr utilizing E emergency lcatin services where available. When yu place an emergency call, the GPS feature f yur phne seeks infrmatin t calculate yur apprximate lcatin. Depending n several variables, including availability and access t satellite signals, it may take up t 30 secnds r mre t determine and reprt yur apprximate lcatin. Imprtant: Always reprt yur lcatin t the peratr when placing an emergency call. Sme designated emergency call takers, knwn as Public Safety Answering Pints (PSAPs), may nt be equipped t receive GPS lcatin infrmatin frm yur phne. Receive Phne Calls When yu receive a phne call frm a cntact, the Incming call screen appears and displays the caller ID icn, name, and phne number f the calling party. Yu can check yur vic by dialing 1 + area cde + yur wireless phne number. When yur vic answers, enter yur passwrd. Visual Vic Visual Vic gives yu a quick and easy way t access yur vic . Nw yu can find exactly the message yu are lking fr withut having t listen t every vic message first. View vic s by caller name and number, alng with the length f time and pririty level f the message. Press and tap Apps > Vic . Phne Call Optins Yur phne applicatin prvides many useful features and ptins t help yu make the mst f yur calling experience. Dialing Optins There are several ptins available when entering a new number. 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. While dialing, tap t display a list f ptins. Tap an ptin t select it. Send message t send a text message t the entry. Add t cntacts t add the entered number int yur Cntacts list. See Add a Cntact fr mre infrmatin. Speed dial setting t display the cntacts assigned t numbers 2 thrugh 100. The number 1 is reserved fr Vic . Add 2-sec pause t add a 2-secnd pause t the number yu are dialing. Add wait t add a pause t the calling sequence until yu tap a key t cntinue. Wi-Fi Calling: If yur device supprts Wi-Fi Calling, enable Wi-Fi calling. Call settings t display the Call settings menu. 38 Caller ID Caller ID identifies a caller befre yu answer the phne by displaying the number f the incming call. Yu can blck Caller ID if yu d nt want yur number displayed when yu make a call. This blck nly lasts fr ne call; t permanently blck yur number, call Custmer Service. 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Tap. 3. Enter a phne number and then tap. Call Waiting When yu re n a call, Call Waiting alerts yu t incming calls by sunding a tne. Yur phne s screen infrms yu that anther call is cming in and displays the caller s phne number (if it is available). T respnd t an incming call while yu re n a call: 1. Slide t the right t put the first call n hld and answer the secnd call. 2. T switch back t the first caller, tap Swap. 3-Way Calling With 3-Way Calling (als knwn as Cnference calling), yu can talk t tw peple at the same time. When using this feature, the nrmal airtime rates will be charged fr each f the tw calls. 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Enter a number and tap. 3. Once yu have established the cnnectin, tap Add call and dial the secnd number. (This puts the first caller n hld and dials the secnd number.) 4. When yu re cnnected t the secnd party, tap Merge. If ne f the peple yu called hangs up during yur call, yu and the remaining caller stay cnnected. If yu initiated the call and are the first t hang up, all callers are discnnected. 5. 39 Call Frwarding Call Frwarding lets yu frward all yur incming calls t anther phne number even when yur phne is turned ff. Yu can cntinue t make calls frm yur phne when yu have activated Call Frwarding. Nte: Yu are charged a higher rate fr calls yu have frwarded. Activate Call Frwarding 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Tap. 3. Enter the area cde and phne number t which yu want yur calls frwarded. 4. Tap. (Yu will hear a tne t cnfirm the activatin f Call Frwarding.) Deactivate Call Frwarding 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Tap. 3. Tap. (A tne plays t cnfirm the deactivatin.) In-call Optins While yu re n a call, yu will see a number f nscreen ptins. Tap an ptin t select it. Add call: displays the dialer s yu can call anther persn. Keypad: displays the nscreen keypad, where yu can enter numbers using DTMF (Dual Tne Multi-Frequency). This is especially helpful if yu need t enter an access cde r ther infrmatin while n an active call. End call: Terminate the call. Speaker: Rute the phne s audi either thrugh the speaker r thrugh the earpiece. Warning: Because f higher vlume levels, d nt place the phne near yur ear during speakerphne use. There are ne hundred available numbered spaces. The number 1 is reserved fr Vic . Assigning Speed Dials 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Tuch > Speed dial setting. 3. Tap an unused space and the Select cntact screen displays. 4. Select a cntact t assign t the number. The selected cntact number will display in the speed dial number bx. Remving Speed Dials 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Tap > Speed dial setting. 3. Tap > Remve. 4. Tap the X next t the speed dial entries yu want t remve. 5. Tap Dne. Edit Speed Dials 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Tap > Speed dial setting. 3. Tap > Change rder. 4. Tap the entry yu want t mve, and then tap an unassigned space. (Fr example, if yu select speed dial 12, and speed dial 8 shws "Nt assigned," yu can tap speed dial 8 t mve the entry.) If yu tap an assigned space, the tw speed dials will swap places. 5. Tap Dne. 43 Cntacts The Cntacts applicatin lets yu stre and manage cntacts frm a variety f surces, including cntacts yu enter and save directly in yur phne as well as cntacts synchrnized with yur Ggle Accunt, yur PC, cmpatible prgrams (including Exchange Server), and yur Facebk friends. Get Started with Cntacts Befre using Cntacts, it s best t learn a few basics. Yur phne autmatically srts the Cntacts entries alphabetically. Yu can create a Ggle cntact, a phne cntact, r a Crprate (Micrsft Exchange ActiveSync) cntact. Phne cntacts are stred lcally n the phne. Nte: If the phne is ever reset t its factry default parameters, lcally stred cntacts (phne cntacts) can be lst. Ggle cntacts are shared with yur existing Ggle Accunt and can als be imprted t yur phne after yu have created a Ggle Mail accunt. Micrsft Exchange ActiveSync cntacts are shared with a Micrsft Exchange accunt. Access Cntacts There are a few ways t display Cntacts. Press and tap Cntacts. r Press and tap Phne > Cntacts tab. Add a Cntact Yu can add cntacts directly frm the Cntacts applicatin. Enter details such as name, phne numbers, addresses, mailing addresses, and mre. 1. Press and tap Cntacts. 2. Tap at the tp f the screen. 3. If yu have accunts set up n yur phne, tap a strage accunt. 4. Tuch cntact fields t enter infrmatin. Cntacts 33

44 Tap and assign an image t the new entry. Chse an image frm Gallery, take a new picture with the Camera, r use an S Mem. Tap the Name field and use the nscreen keybard t enter the full name. Tap Vibratin pattern t chse a vibratin t play fr new calls r messages frm the cntact. Tap Add anther field t add new fields fr the cntact. 5. Tap Save t save the new cntact. Save a Phne Number Yu can save a phne number t Cntacts directly frm the phne dial pad. 1. Press and tap Phne. 2. Enter a phne number using the keypad. 3. Tap > Add t Cntacts, and then chse Create cntact r Update existing. 4. If yu re creating a new cntact, chse an accunt fr the cntact. 5. Cntinue entering cntact infrmatin, if desired. Edit a Cntact Once yu ve added a cntact, yu can add r edit any f the infrmatin in the entry, assign a caller ID picture, custmize with a unique ringtne, and mre. Assign a Ringtne t a Cntact Yu can assign a special ringtne t individual cntacts fr mre persnalizatin. 1. Press and tap Cntacts. 2. Tap a cntact t display it. 3. Tap Ringtne, and then chse frm the fllwing: Tap a ringtne t select it, and then tap OK. When yu tap a ringtne, a sample plays. Yur phne s Cntacts applicatin lets yu link multiple entries int a single cntact. 1. Press and tap Cntacts. 2. Tap a cntact t display it, and then tap. 3. Tap anther entry t link it t the riginal cntact. Nte: Yu can link up t ten cntacts in a single entry. Delete a Cntact Yu can delete a cntact frm the cntacts details page. 1. Press and tap Cntacts. 2. Tap a cntact t display it, and then tap > Delete. 3. Tap OK. Tip: Yu can als tuch and hld the cntact and then tap Delete. Add Entries t Yur Favrites The Favrites tab is a listing that can help yu quickly access yur mst used r preferred Cntacts entries. Favrites are marked with a star. 1. Press and tap Cntacts. 2. Tap a cntact t display it, and then tap the star n the cntact recrd. Create Grups This feature allws yu t add a new r existing cntact t a call grup. This grup can be ne f the already present grups (Family, Friends, r Wrk) r a user-created grup. Create a New Grup Yu can create new grups with unique ringtnes and vibratin patterns. Cntacts 36

Tap Add member and select a member r members t add t the new Grup list. 4. Tap Dne when yu are finished adding members, and then tap Save. When yu use data services, yur user name is submitted t identify yu t the Natinwide Sprint Netwrk. Yur user name is autmatically prgrammed int yur phne. Yu dn t have t enter it. Update Yur User Name If yu chse t change yur user name and select a new ne nline, r make any changes t yur services, yu must then update the prfile n yur phne. Turn Wi-Fi On and Cnnect t a Wireless Netwrk By default, yur phne s Wi-Fi feature is turned ff. Turning Wi-Fi n makes yur phne able t discver and cnnect t cmpatible in-range Wi-Fi netwrks (r WAPs - wireless access pints). Turn Wi-Fi On 1. Press and then tap > Settings > Cnnectins. 2. Tap the ON/OFF switch beside Wi-Fi t turn Wi-Fi On. Tip: Yu can als turn Wi-Fi n and ff thrugh the Ntificatin panel. Drag the Ntificatin panel dwn and tap Wi-Fi t enable r disable Wi-Fi. Nte: Mst Wi-Fi netwrks are self-discverable, which means n additinal steps are required fr yur phne t cnnect t a Wi-Fi netwrk. It may be necessary t prvide a user name and passwrd fr certain clsed wireless netwrks. Cnnect t a Wi-Fi Netwrk 1. Press and tap > Settings > Cnnectins > Wi-Fi. 2. The netwrk names and security settings (Open netwrk r Secured with xxx) f detected Wi-Fi netwrks are displayed. When yu select an pen netwrk, yu will be autmatically cnnected t the netwrk. When yu select a secured netwrk, yu will need t enter the wireless passwrd t cnnect t the netwrk. Enter the passwrd and tap Cnnect. Yu can use the shw passwrd ptin t display the passwrd as yu enter it. Add a New Netwrk Cnnectin 1. Press and tap > Settings > Cnnectins > Wi-Fi. 2. Tap Add Wi-Fi netwrk. 3. Enter the Netwrk SSID. This is the name f yur Wi-Fi netwrk. 4. Tap the Security field and select a security ptin. This must match the current security setting n yur target netwrk. 5. Tap Cnnect t stre the new infrmatin and cnnect t the Wi-Fi netwrk. Web and Data 64

Cnnect a Bluetth Headset r Car Kit Yu can listen t music ver a Bluetth stere headset, r have hands-free cnversatins using a cmpatible Bluetth headset r car kit. It s the same prcedure t set up stere audi and handsfree devices. T listen t music with yur headset r car kit, the headset r car kit must supprt the A2DP Bluetth prfile. 1. Press and tap > Settings > Cnnectins > Bluetth. 2. If Bluetth is nt n, tap the ON/OFF switch t turn it n. 3. Make sure that the headset is discverable, s that yur phne can find the headset. Refer t the instructins that came with the headset t find ut hw t set it t discverable mde. 4. Tap Scan. Yur phne will start t scan fr Bluetth devices within range. 5. When yu see the name f yur headset displayed in the Bluetth devices sectin, tap the name. Yur phne then autmatically tries t pair with the headset. 6. When the Bluetth headset r car kit is cnnected t yur phne, (Bluetth cnnected) displays in the status bar. Depending n the type f headset r car kit yu have cnnected, yu can then start using the headset r car kit t listen t music r make and receive phne calls. Nte: Due t different specificatins and features f ther Bluetth-cmpatible devices, display and peratins may be different, and functins such as transfer r exchange may nt be pssible with all Bluetth-cmpatible devices. Recnnect a Headset r Car Kit When yu have paired a headset with yur phne, yu shuld be able t recnnect it autmatically by turning n Bluetth n yur phne and then turning n the headset. Hwever, smetimes yu will need t recnnect manually, fr example if yu have been using yur headset with anther Bluetth device. 1. Press and tap > Settings > Cnnectins > Bluetth. 2. If Bluetth is nt n, tap the ON/OFF switch t turn it n. 3. Make sure that the headset is discverable. 4. Tap the headset s name in the Bluetth devices sectin. 5. If prmpted t enter a passcde, try 0000 r 1234, r cnsult the headset r car kit dcumentatin t find the passcde. 6. If yu still cannt recnnect t the headset r car kit, fllw the instructins in Discnnect r Unpair Frm a Bluetth Device, and then fllw the instructins in Cnnect a Bluetth Headset r Car Kit. After that, yur phne and the ther device are paired, and yu will nt need t exchange passcdes t transfer infrmatin in the future. Send Infrmatin frm Yur Phne t Anther Device 1. Turn Bluetth On, n yur device and the target device. On yur device, press and tap > Settings > Cnnectins > Bluetth. Set the receiving device t visible r discverable mde. Refer t the device s dcumentatin fr instructins n receiving infrmatin ver Bluetth. 2. On yur phne, pen the applicatin that cntains the infrmatin r file yu want t send. Fr example, if yu want t send a pht, press and tap Apps > Gallery. 3. Fllw the steps fr the type f item yu want t send: Phts and vides: Frm Gallery, n the Albums tab, tap an album, tap an item, and then tap > Bluetth. On the sending device, send ne r mre files t yur phne. Refer t the device s dcumentatin fr instructins n sending infrmatin ver Bluetth. 5. Fllw the prmpts n yur phne t accept the transfer. When yu pen a received file, what happens next depends n the file type: Media files and dcuments are usually pened directly in a cmpatible applicatin. Fr example, if yu pen a music track, it starts playing in the Music applicatin. Fr an event (vcalendar file), select the calendar where yu want t save the event, and then tap Imprt. The event is added t yur Calendar. (Fr mre infrmatin n using the Calendar, see Calendar.) Fr a cntact recrd (vcard file), yu can chse t imprt ne, several, r all f thse cntacts t yur cntacts list. Virtual Private Netwrks (VPN) Frm yur phne, yu can add, set up, and manage virtual private netwrks (VPNs) that allw yu t cnnect and access resurces inside a secured lcal netwrk, such as yur crprate netwrk. Prepare Yur Phne fr VPN Cnnectin Depending n the type f VPN yu are using at wrk, yu may be required t enter yur lgin credentials r install security certificates befre yu can cnnect t yur cmpany s lcal netwrk. Yu can get this infrmatin frm yur netwrk administratr. Befre yu can initiate a VPN cnnectin, yur phne must first establish a Wi-Fi r data cnnectin.
