1 Lenv Flex System X6 Cmpute Ndes (7196) Lenv Press Prduct Guide The Lenv Flex System X6 Cmpute Nde, machine type 7196, is a high-perfrmance scalable cmpute nde that is designed t take n the mst demanding wrklads. The perfrmance, flexibility, and resiliency features enable the X6 t run missin-critical wrklads, such as key business applicatins, database, analytics, and large virtual machine deplyments. The X6 Cmpute Nde family is cmpsed f the x880 X6, x480 X6, and x280 X6. Each cmpute nde cntains tw Intel Xen E7 prcessrs. The x880 X6 uses E v3 prcessrs and supprts jining tw r fur x880 cmpute ndes t frm a single 8-scket server with 192 DIMM slts. The x480 uses E v3 prcessrs and supprts jining tw x480 cmpute ndes t frm a single 4-scket server with 96 DIMM slts. The x280 has tw E v2 prcessrs and 48 DIMM slts but des nt ffer scaling. Suggested use: Missin-critical scalable databases, business analytics, virtualizatin, enterprise applicatins, and clud applicatins. Figure 1 shws the Flex System X6 Cmpute Nde. Figure 1. Fast applicatin perfrmance Each cmpute nde ffers the fllwing features t bst perfrmance: Supprts memry-channel strage and exflash DIMMs, where slid-state strage devices are installed in memry DIMM sckets. The use f frnt-access scalability cnnectrs means that yu can easily scale the X6 system by adding cmpute ndes withut remving cmpute ndes frm the chassis. With the usage f E v3 prcessrs, upgrading frm a 2-scket (ne cmpute nde) t 4-scket (tw cmpute ndes) t 8-scket (fur cmpute ndes) cmplex is as simple as inserting the extra cmpute ndes and attaching the apprpriate scalability cnnectr t the frnt f all the cmpute ndes.
