The 3012 features 10 user programmable soft status keys, up to 240 character text messagng dsplay, fve unversal nputs for automatng vehcle status, optonal accessores ncludng a 16 channel GPS recever, credt card reader and thermal prnter. Automatc Vehcle Locaton The 3012 s avalable wth optonal 16 channel nternal GPS Recever (analog only). Capable of cold start acquston n less than one mnute and warm start of less than 15 seconds for fast GPS poston fx. GPS updates are programmable for starts, stops, turns, over speed lmt, and tmed nterval. The 3012 s able to retan the most recent 1024 GPS poston fxes n non-volatle E 2 PROM memory. The most recent 100 postons may be sent over the ar (analog only) and 1024 may be extracted va seral connecton. Advanced queung features allow for storng and sendng locaton fxes n groups to conserve rado system artme. Flexble I/O The fve nputs may be attached to status tags, whch update the event status determned by nput state and are PC programmable for status 1 9, GPS on Demand TM or Emergency. Mleage Reportng Logs accumulated mleage to send to Street Smarts. Wthn Street Smarts, users can be alerted when mantenance s due on a vehcle or run mantenance reports on the fleet (analog only). Credt Card Authorzaton Track 1 credt card reader and thermal prnter are avalable for secure payment transactons. Credt Card transactons are processed through the Authorze.net payment gateway. The Merln has 3 nputs that can be used for general purpose vehcle montorng (doors open, shotgun removed, etc...) or can be programmed to specal functons. The also has 3 general purpose outputs that can be used to alert the drver when out of the vehcle or for remote control of vehcle functons. The Merln easly nterfaces to any conventonal or trunkng moble. Poston updates are stored n non-volatle E 2 PROM memory for download and playback at a later tme. Merln s capable of storng 85 hours of vehcular actvty at fve mnute update ntervals. Dual Mode Operaton The Merln wll automatcally send ts poston nformaton on a pre-programmed nterval. One of the general purpose nputs can be programmed as a Code 3 nput. When actvated wll update at a shorter nterval for more accurate trackng by dspatch. Both update rates are PC programmable. Normal rate can be programmed between one mnute and four hours n one mnute ncrements. Code 3 rate can be programmed between fve seconds and 20 mnutes n 5 second ncrements. Smart Trunkng Access When the Merln s connected to a trunkng rado and a GPS update s sent, the unt wll key the rado for 200mS; t then montors the rado's transmtter for an on-ar condton. If t does not see the rado transmt at all (system s busy), t wll retry every four seconds untl successful or tme out (60 sec). When t detects that the rado s transmttng, t wll contnue to montor the on-ar lne untl the transmtter remans keyed for at least 400mS to ensure that the rado s not handshakng or retryng. After successful acquston of a voce channel, t wll send ts status request ensurng the message s receved by the base Snce 1990

PC Programmable The Merln s PC programmable for all operatng parameters usng the FY-1 programmng cable. Geo-fencng allows the dspatcher to defne geographc boundares then receve advsores when the vehcle arrves or leaves these areas. In addton, the overthe-speed-lmt ndcator wll notfy the dspatcher when a vehcle exceeds a pre-determned speed. Certan events, such as overspeed alarms, geofence alerts and pre-defned statuses, can be forwarded to your moble phone vs SMS text message to alert supervsors or other mportant team members of vehcle events. Events and locaton data sent from the moble unts are all stored on the Street Smarts Platnum 7's database, where users can easly navgate to fnd hstorcal events and data for any vehcle n the fleet.
