4 1 Intrductin This dcument prvides initial guidance f selecting the Target Path cde f a custmer. These cde selectin rules prvide high-level guidance as t which Brcade Netwk Advis versin is generally the best versin t select. This dcument als identifies the prjected next Target Path release f Brcade Netwk Advis, after it achieves the required field experience and sak time. These guidelines are nt intended t be the nly resurces used in selecting cde f a custmer. The field SE suppt engineer wh is using this guide shuld als cnsult the Brcade release ntes f patches built n the Target Path cde releases. The release ntes might identify a specific issue cner case that shuld als be cnsidered when making a cde recmmendatin. This guide is meant t assist the field SE suppt engineer in selecting the best level f Brcade Netwk Advis based n suppted hardware, knwn issues, and prven field experience. 2 Definitin f a Target Path Release A Brcade Netwk Advis release is identified as a Target Path release nce it meets the fllwing qualificatins: The OEM has qualified the release. SQA testing demnstrates a high level f cnfidence in a stable release. The release has had at least ne mnth f expsure in the field. In rare cases, an emergency patch might be tagged as a Target Path release based n the severity f the defects addressed. 3 Target Path Cde Selectin The fllwing sectins identify the specific Target Path cde releases within each versin f Brcade Netwk Advis. The general recmmendatin is t always select the highest level patch within the release that is suppted by the custmer s OEM. 3.1 Brcade Netwk Advis Target Path All Prducts Brcade Netwk Advis shuld generally be recmmended f all Brcade Fabric OS, Netwk OS, and IrnWare OS custmers.
