10 Using Internal D Size Battery Pwer Optin 1. Open the husing 2. Remve the battery cver. 3. Make sure camera pwer switch is in the OFF psitin. 4. Install 8 "D Size" batteries. "Premium quality alkaline batteries designed fr digital cameras are recmmended fr ptimum perfrmance" 5. Replace battery cver. 12V Lead Acid external (Sld separately) Pwer surce spec recmmended: 12V / 8AH Lead-Acid Battery Make sure camera is turned t OFF. Make sure the pwer cable t the lead acid battery is cnnected t the crrect plarity. Firmly insert barrel plug in the 12V jack n bttm f camera. Only Stealth Cam accessry Lead-Acid Battery is recmmended fr this unit. Lead-Acid Battery perfrmance is subject t weather cnditins, Invisible Infrared Illuminatr activity and user settings. Tll Free

11 Memry Optins STC-IR1 Yur Stealth Cam STC-IR1 cmes with 32MB f built in flash memry. The camera is als equipped with an expandable media card slt capable f accepting up t a 1GB Cmpact Flash card (sld separately). With n memry card inserted int the slt; the camera will use the built in 32MB memry. If a cmpact flash card is inserted int the slt then the camera will bypass the built in memry and utilize the cmpact flash memry. The frnt cunter display will shw the number f images n the built in memry unless the expansin card is inserted at which pint the cunter will nly shw the number f images n the expansin card. The camera shuld be in the OFF psitin when adding r remving memry cards. Make sure t frmat the CF card prir t use in STC-IR1. New cards are gd t use straight frm the package. Insert the memry card with the tp f the card facing the frnt f the camera. Slide card all the way int the slt until it lcks in place. T remve the card: Make sure the pwer is ff. Simply pull the card ut. Tll Free

13 Set up and Prgramming Familiarize yur self with the lcatin f the different buttns befre prgramming the camera settings as it is helpful t lk at the frnt LCD display while perfrming the varius functins. Setting the cntinuus capture prgram Cntinuus capture is the number f images the camera will recrd each time the PIR cverage area is intruded. Nte: Allw 3 secnds between pressing MENU buttn when navigating thrugh the setting mdes. Open the husing. Mve the ON / OFF switch t ON. It will take apprximately 5 secnds fr the camera t pwer ON. After the camera has pwered ON yu have 30 secnd t begin prgramming befre the camera enters detectin mde. Once the camera has pwered ON the LCD display n the frnt husing will read as illustrated in figure 1. PIR n the display indicates the PIR (Passive Infrared Mtin Sensr) Tll Free

14 Figure 1 Nte: During the prcess f each mde setting, it is nrmal t see the LCD screen figures blink. Press the MENU buttn fur times. The "P" icn will start flashing. Using the "UP" arrw buttn press until yu have reached the desired setting fr the number f pictures. 15 save yur setting and enter the next prgramming mde - Time ut setting. If yu d nt need t enter the time ut setting mde press MENU t return t the main screen. Setting the Time Out Time ut is the amunt f time the camera will sleep between triggering. This is a battery & memry saving feature. After fllwing the directins in step ne: Yu shuld see the "M" icn blinking. Using the "UP" r "DOWN" arrws; enter yur desired time ut perid frm 1 minute t 60 minutes. One-minute increments frm 1-10, then five minute increments t 60. When yu have entered the time ut setting press SELECT t save yur setting and enter the next prgramming mde: Time & Date. Setting the Time & Date After yu have fllwed the directins frm steps 1 & 2: Yu Tll Free

16 STC-IR1 shuld see the year number blinking. Using the "UP r DOWN" arrws enter the crrect year. Once yu have entered the year press MENU the Mnth will start blinking. Using the UP r DOWN arrws enter the crrect mnth. Once yu have entered the mnth press MENU. The Day will start blinking. Using the "UP r DOWN" arrws enter the crrect Day. Once yu have entered the day press MENU the Hur will start blinking. Using the "UP r DOWN" arrws enter the crrect Hur. Once yu have entered the Hur press MENU the Minutes will start blinking. Using the "UP r DOWN" arrws enter the crrect Minutes. Once yu have entered the Minutes press SELECT. This will bring yu t the main screen. If keep pressing MENU the setting sequence will repeat Year-Mnth-Day-Hur-Minute. Tll Free

17 Setting the Reslutin STC-IR1 When yu are in the Time & Date setting and see the Year figure is blinking, immediately press SELECT this will bring yu int the Reslutin setting. When yu enter the Reslutin setting the small letter icn H (high) r M (medium) r L (lw)] will be blinking. (see memry chart fr reslutin capacities) Using the "UP r "DOWN" arrws enter the desired reslutin. Press SELECT This will bring yu t the next setting mde. TV System (Vide Signal)] r press MENU t return t the main screen. Setting the TV System (NTSC / PAL) NTSC is the crrect setting fr all f Nrth America. Yur Stealth Cam STC-IR1 cmes pre-prgrammed fr NTSC. After fllwing abve steps t enter the Reslutin setting, press SELECT will bring yu int the TV System setting. When yu enter the TV System setting either the small icn N Tll Free

18 r P will be blinking. STC-IR1 Using the "UP" r "DOWN" arrws enter the crrect TV system (N - NTSC r P - PAL). NTSC is the crrect setting fr all f Nrth America. Press SELECT nce yu have entered the crrect TV system. This will bring yu back t the main screen. Slide the pwer switch t OFF. Setting the PIR detectin distance PIR effective distance range can be set frm 6ft ~ 30ft (Near ~ Far) The Adjust buttn is used t adjust the distance frm as clse as 2 meters t as far as 9 meters. Make sure camera is turned t OFF. Adjust the switch t the desired effective distance range. Yur camera is nw set up and ready fr use. Tll Free

19 Using the camera STC-IR1 Once yu have cmpleted the settings listed abve, the camera is ready fr use. Munting the camera with the supplied Tree Screw Hand twist the screw int the tree r pst at the desired psitin. Attach the camera t the screw by turning the camera nt the munting screw t the desired psitin. Tighten the stabilizer nut. Tll Free

20 Munting the camera with the supplied Strap Insert the strap thrugh the strap slts n the rear husing. Wrap the strap arund the munting surface. Secure the strap & tighten the buckle in rder t secure the camera. Tll Free

21 Munting suggestins STC-IR1 Camera shuld be munted between 4 t 5 feet frm the grund up depending n the subject matter yu are trying t capture n the camera. Avid munting camera directly facing east r west. The rising & setting f the sun culd cause a false trigger f the camera. Clear any branches r debris away frm camera lens and PIR. Tll Free

22 Nte: In rder t btain prper weather resistance, please make sure that bth dr latches are securely lcked in place. Testing the cameras cverage area One f Stealth Cam's many features is the ability t test the cverage area. After munting the camera; pen frnt husing & slide the pwer switch t ON After the frnt LCD screen has pwered ON, press the TEST buttn. (This must be dne with in 30 secnds r the camera will enter detectin mde). Clse the frnt husing. Walk arund in frnt f the camera t see if yu have munted camera in the prper psitin. A green indicatr light will blink n the frnt husing when yu have intruded the cverage area. Adjust the camera psitin as needed & repeat testing until the desired cverage area is achieved. Tll Free

23 STC-IR1 When yu have cmpleted the testing the cverage area there are 2 methds fr exiting test mde: 1. Open the frnt husing and press the TEST buttn t exit test mde. The camera will then enter sleep mde fr 1 minute. After ne minute the camera will pwer up and LCD screen will turn n. At this pint yu have 45 secnds t make any last minute adjustments. After the 45 secnds the green LED indicatr will start blinking giving yu ne minute t leave the cverage area. The camera then enters PIR detectin mde. 2. After 5 minutes in TEST mde, the camera will then enter sleep mde fr 1 minute. After ne minute the camera will pwer up and LCD screen will turn n. At this pint yu have 45 secnds t make any last minute adjustments. After the 45 secnds the green LED indicatr will start blinking giving yu ne minute t leave the cverage area. The camera then enters PIR detectin mde. Tll Free

24 Using the camera in PIR detectin mde Munt the camera t tree r ther sturdy bject using either the supplied tree screw r munting strap (Please refer t the Munting Suggestins sectin in this manual). Open the frnt husing & mve the switch t the ON psitin. At this pint yu have 30 secnds t make any prgram adjustments. After 30 secnds the camera's green test light will begin blinking. This is yur indicatin t leave the cverage area within ne minute. Nte: After ne minute the camera will be in Detectin mde. Based n yur prgram the camera will take between 1-3 pictures r a 10 secnd AVI vide. The camera will then time ut between 1-60 minutes als based n yur setting. The time between mtin detectin and the camera taking pictures may vary due t lighting cnditins, prgram setting and battery pwer level. The IR lighting will nly activate in lw light cnditins. 26 Viewing and deleting images The Stealth Cam STC-IR1 ffers the user three different ptins fr viewing the images. Nte: Images captured in daytime r high lux envirnment will be full clr. Images taken in nighttime r lw lux envirnment with IR lighting device activated will be black & white. Viewing the images n camera 1.8" TFT LCD screen Turn the camera n Press the MENU buttn twice. A TV icn will appear n the frnt LCD screen. Within a few secnds the first image will appear n the inside TFT display. At first the image will appear distrted. After 2 secnds the image will clear up. At the bttm f the screen will be an infrmatin bar that indicates what picture ut f the ttal stred in memry yu are viewing. Als displayed are the battery level f the camera and the reslutin f the image. Tll Free

27 T view the time & date stamp press the buttn. The time & date will nw appear n every image viewed. Using the UP and DOWN buttns navigate thrugh the images ne at a time. T view the images as a slide shw press SELECT a secnd time and the camera will begin t scrll frm image t image every 3 secnds. T stp the slide shw press SELECT again. Viewing the images n a Handheld LCD TV vide mnitr Turn the camera ff. Attach the apprpriate cable t the vide ut jack n the camera. Insert the ther end int the vide in jack n the LCD TV Mnitr. Turn n the LCD TV Mnitr then turn n the camera. Press the MENU buttn twice. A TV icn will appear n the Tll Free

Attach the apprpriate cable t the vide ut jack n the camera. Insert the ther end int the RCA vide in jack n the hme TV. Turn n the Mnitr then turn n the camera. Press the MENU buttn twice. 32 STC-IR1 Then with the camera in the OFF psitin; plug the ther end f the USB crd int the camera. The camera will autmatically pwer ON and display a USB icn n the Frnt LCD screen. See figure 3. 33 Figure 4 Select the images yu want t dwnlad and click n dwnlad bx n yur cmputer screen. The default setting will dwnlad the images yu selected t a file flder in My Dcuments with the date f the dwnlad as the file name. The images can then be pened directly using yur cmputers built in image viewer r thrugh the supplied ArcSft Pht Tll Free

34 Impressin sftware. This easy t use sftware will allw yu t enhance, manipulate and custmize yur images. Fr instructins n hw t use this sftware pen the prgram and then click n the in the upper right hand crner f the ArcSft Pht Impressin windw. Deleting Images frm memry The Stealth Cam STC-IR1 ffers the user the ability t delete ne image at a time r all at nce. Nte: If yu have a Cmpact Flash memry card installed in the memry card slt the images yu select t delete will be deleted frm that card. If there is n card installed in the slt then the images yu select t delete will be deleted frm the built in memry. 35 images ne at a time. T delete the images ne at a time press the DELETE. Yu will be prmpted n screen with the fllwing message. Delete Image? Yes N Using the UP r DOWN arrw enter Yes t delete the image r N t keep it. Press the DELETE buttn. Cntinue t scrll thrugh the images and delete them as needed. Deleting images all at nce Turn the camera ON. Press the MENU buttn three times. Yu will see a blinking icn n the LCD screen that is a bx with an X thrugh it. Tll Free

36 Precautins STC-IR1 Press either the UP r DOWN buttn. The X bx will stp blinking. Press the MENU buttn t cnfirm delete. This will delete all the images in memry. The camera is designed t be weather resistant. Never attempt t immerse the unit int water r any ther liquid. This will damage the unit and vid the warranty. D nt drp the camera. D nt mix new and ld batteries Avid tuching the camera lens and PIR lens D nt attempt t pen the camera fr unauthrized service. This culd cause serius damage t the unit and will vid the warranty. 37 The Stealth Cam lcking plate is an accessry designed t aid the user in securing the camera t its munting area. The lck plate is intended t be used with a padlck, chain and / r cable. Step 1 Munt the Camera. Munt the camera using either the supplied strap r the accessry tree screw. Step 2 Insert the Lck Plate. When Using the Strap: Insert the lck plate between the strap & back camera husing thrugh the strap slts. When Using the Tree Screw: Insert the lck plate thrugh the strap slts. Step 3 Install Cable r Chain. Insert the cable r chain thrugh ne hle f the lck plate. Wrap the chain r cable arund the frnt f the camera husing being sure nt t bstruct the camera lens, flash r PIR sensr. Then insert the chain r cable thrugh the secnd hle n the lck plate. Tighten the cable r chain snug arund the camera & munting surface. Using a pad lck secure the chain r cable behind the munting surface. Precautins: The Stealth Cam lck plate is meant t be used in crdinatin with a Tll Free
