1 Aftermarket Rear View Camera Installatin (G 500 install shwn) Nte: It is necessary fr this camera installatin t drill multiple hles int the rear dr skin. The small vide cax cable needs t be cut, spliced & sldered back tgether. If nt cmfrtable ding these tasks please use a cmpetent installer. Rear View Camera Kit Cntent: OEM Mercedes Benz G Class Camera Husing (unpainted) OEM Mercedes Benz Gasket fr Camera Husing OEM Mercedes Benz Munting Trx Screws (2) Aftermarket, Reversed Image, Clr Camera Vide/ and Pwer Cable 4.1 Install Preparatins It is a gd practice t discnnect the battery pwer frm the vehicle when wrking n the electrical system please fllw the MB instructin hw t discnnect the battery. Remve the rear dr's (carg) interir panels. Pull ff the left vertical trim piece frm the rear dr frame

2 Remve the left rear interir panel, discnnect the speaker and cnvenience plug wires Remve the small carpet sectin and the metal access panel in the left crner f the carg area. Remve the CD changer fr better access. 4.2 Camera Husing Install Using the gasket fr the camera husing as a template centered n the rear dr sectin abve the rear windw, mark the tw munting hles fr the tw Trx head screws and the ne fr the small cable/cnnectr. Please verify the hle lcatins befre drilling the dr skin. De burr the drilled hles and tuch up the edges with primer paint. On lder W463 G class mdels, the rear dr inner panel might nt have the tw penings t gain access t the Trx head munting screws see picture drill thse large enugh t fit a Trx driver thrugh it. The OEM Mercedes Benz camera husing is unpainted, have it painted t match yur vehicles clr finish if s desired. If yu like t remve the camera frm the husing, just unscrew the lck ring inside the husing. Make sure the camera's rtatin is crrect check the vide picture befre finishing the install. Install the camera husing tgether with the gasket using the tw Trx head screws. Be careful with the camera's interface cable nt t damage it, cil it up but d nt cut it!

3 4.3 Interface Cable Installatin The camera's interface cable has t be ruted t the left, inside the rear dr, then via the plastic cnduit int the left rear panel space just belw the Sunrf mtr. Starting at the dr's end f the plastic cnduit, insert a "fishing rd", the slid AWG 14 electrical wire (r similar) wrks here well. Lay ut the interface cable, the newer camera cmes nw with an interface cable extensin, ther than as shwn in the pictures.

4 Tape the cable nw t the fishing rd using electrical vinyl tape and carefully pull this assembly int the rear left panel space. Use sme dish sap if yu have t, but d nt pull t hard yu might damage the small vide cable Leave enugh length f the cables n the dr side remember the end with the cnnectr still needs t reach the tp f the rear dr t the camera cable cnnectr. Nw fish the end f the interface cables with the cnnectr inside the left side f the dr, up t the tp, where the cnnectr can be accessible thrugh ne f the access hles. Cnnect the camera's mini plug firmly int the cnnectr until yu hear the click! Tape ff their jint t make it a bit misture prf and will nt cme apart easily.

5 Insert the plug assembly carefully back int dr's cavity and tie it ff using wire ties. 4.4 Cable Cnnectins Pwer Cable There is n accessry +12V (n with ignitin switch) pwer at that left rear lcatin. rute the pwer cable (red and black wire) as per installers preference t the center cnsle/center dash bard. Cnnect the black wire ( 12V) t the brwn, and the red wire (+12V) t the red/black wire f the cigarette lighter circuitry, r t the prir installed pwer harness fr the aftermarket NAV install. Nw the camera is pwered by +12V accessry pwer Camera Vide Cable Ruting the supplied Vide Cable Using the supplied vide interface cable, rute this cable as per installers preference t the (new) head/nav unit. Re splice and slder the previusly cut ff yellw RCA cnnectr back t the vide interface cable and cnnect it t the Rear View Camera Input.
