After suessful hek, the LED will either sty ON or go OFF. When the LED keeps flshing for more thn 0 minutes, the omptiility hek filed, nd NO Smrt Grid opertion is possile. Router For the onnetion of the LAN dpter, the router requires free LAN port. The minimum tegory for the Ethernet le is Ct5e. Indoor unit For power nd ommunition with the indoor unit, the LAN dpter is to e onneted to the indoor unit vi wire le. There is NO seprte power supply: the dpter gets its power from the indoor unit... Digitl inputs Connetor XA is for the onnetion of the LAN dpter to the digitl inputs of solr inverter/energy mngement system, nd llows for use of the ROTEX system in vrious Smrt Grid pplitions. Wiring routed nd inserted from the rer ONLY for in wll wiring entering the dpter from the rer. XA/N+L supply detetion voltge to the input ontt of XA. The detetion voltge enles the detetion of the stte (open or lose) of the digitl inputs, nd does NOT supply power to the rest of the LAN dpter PCB. The wiring for XA nd XA CAN e routed nd inserted from the rer (or from the ottom). The wiring for XA nd XA CANNOT e routed nd inserted from the rer. Mke sure XA/N+L re proteted y fst ting iruit reker (rted urrent 00 ma~6 A). It is NOT llowed to route wiring from the ottom, lmp it etween the sing nd the wll, nd let it enter vi the holes in the rer (). Overview: Instlltion The instlltion of the LAN dpter onsists of the following stges: Mounting the rer sing to the wll Mounting the PCB to the k sing Conneting eletril wiring Mounting the front sing to the k sing Mounting the LAN dpter Aout mounting the LAN dpter Mounting holes Bottom knokout holes Rer knokout holes The LAN dpter is mounted to the wll y wy of the mounting holes () in the rer sing. Before mounting the rer sing to the wll, you hve to remove some knokout holes ()(), depending on how you wnt to route the wiring nd insert it into the dpter. 6 5 Instlltion 5.. To mount the PCB to the rer sing Wiring from the ottom. ALWAYS reple ny removed knokout holes with the grommets delivered in the essory g. Before inserting the grommets into the holes, ut them open with utility knife, so tht you n let the wiring enter the dpter through the grommets. The grommets MUST e inserted into the holes efore you insert the wiring into the dpter. NOTICE: Risk of eletrostti dishrge NOTICE Before mounting the PCB, touh n erthed prt ( rditor, the sing of the indoor unit,...) to eliminte stti eletriity nd protet the PCB from dmge. ONLY hndle the PCB y its sides. Wiring from the rer. When removing knokout holes, mke sure to remove ny shrp edges tht might rise round the holes, this to protet the wiring from dmge. Letting the wiring enter the dpter from the rer llows you to hide the wiring in the wll. It is NOT possile to let the Ethernet le enter from the rer. The Ethernet le is ALWAYS onneted from the ottom Conneting the eletril wiring 5.. Aout onneting the eletril wiring Typil workflow Conneting the eletril wiring typilly onsists of the following stges: To mount the rer sing to the wll Hold the rer sing ginst the wll nd mrk the position of the holes. Drill the holes. Conneting the dpter to the indoor unit. Conneting the dpter to router. Conneting the dpter to n eletril meter (RBRP069A6 only). Conneting the dpter to the digitl outputs of solr inverter/ energy mngement system (RBRP069A6 only). 5.. Preutions when onneting the eletril wiring Also red the preutions nd requirements in the following hpters: Generl sfety preutions Mount the rer sing to the wll with the srews nd plugs from the essory g. Preprtion DANGER: RISK OF ELECTROCUTION Do NOT turn on the power supply (oth the power supplied y the indoor unit to XA nd the detetion voltge supplied to XA) efore you hve onneted ll the wiring nd losed the dpter. NOTICE Instller referene guide 6 To prevent dmge to the PCB, it is NOT llowed to onnet the eletril wiring with the onnetors lredy onneted to the PCB. First onnet the wiring to the onnetors, then onnet the onnetors to the PCB. WARNING To prevent dmge nd/or injury, do NOT mke ny onnetions to XA nd XA on LAN dpter RBRP069A6. 7 5 Instlltion 5.. To onnet the indoor unit XA In the indoor unit swith ox, the le is onneted to the sme terminls the user interfe is onneted to. For more informtion, see the instlltion mnul of the indoor unit. The wires from the le re NOT polrised. When onneting them to the terminls, their polrity does NOT mtter. When entering the wiring from the ottom: inside the LAN dpter sing, ensure strin relief y routing the le long the indited le pth. Connet indoor unit terminls X5M/+ to LAN dpter terminls XA/+. XA XA XA SS XA Mind the polrity of the le. The positive wire MUST e onneted to XA/; the negtive wire to XA/. Mke sure to onnet the eletril meter in the orret diretion, so tht it mesures the totl energy injeted INTO the grid. XA XA X5M XA To onnet the digitl inputs 5..6 This onnetion is ONLY supported y LAN dpter RBRP069A To onnet the router How the digitl outputs re onneted to XA depends on the Smrt Grid pplition. The onnetion desried in the instrutions elow is for the system to run in the "Reommended ON" opertion mode. For more informtion, see "7 Smrt Grid pplition" on pge. XA WARNING XA Mke sure XA/N+L re proteted y fst ting iruit reker (rted urrent 00 ma~6 A). XA WARNING XA When onneting the wiring to LAN dpter terminl XA, mke sure eh wire is seurely fstened to the pproprite terminl. Use srewdriver to open the wire lmps. Mke sure the re opper wire is fully inserted into the terminl (re opper wire CANNOT e visile). NOTICE To prevent ommunition prolems due to le rekdown, do NOT exeed the minimum end rdius of the Ethernet le Ensure strin relief y fstening the le with le tie to the le tie mounting. This onnetion is ONLY supported y LAN dpter RBRP069A6. Provide detetion voltge to XA/N+L. Mke sure XA/N+L re proteted y fst ting iruit reker. For the system to run in the "Reommended ON" opertion mode (Smrt Grid pplition), onnet the digitl input to the XA/+ LAN dpter digitl input. To onnet the eletril meter When entering the wiring from the ottom: inside the LAN dpter sing, ensure strin relief y routing the le long the indited le pth. 8 5 Instlltion Seril numer XA N L The seril numer is used during the onfigurtion of the LAN dpter. For more informtion, see "6 Configurtion" on pge 9. XA XA 5.. XA To lose the LAN dpter Put the front sing to the rer sing nd tighten the srew. SS N L To onnet to voltge free ontt (Smrt Grid) If the solr inverter/energy mngement system hs voltge free ontt, onnet the LAN dpter s follows: 0 V L XA 5.5 Opening the LAN dpter 5.5. Aout opening the LAN dpter The voltge free ontt should e le to swith 0 V AC 0 ma. The verge instlltion proedure does NOT involve opening the dpter. However, in se you do hve to open it, follow elow proedure. To voltge free ontt To onnet to ontrollle wll soket (Smrt Grid) DANGER: RISK OF ELECTROCUTION Before opening the LAN dpter, turn OFF ll power supply (oth the power reeived from the indoor unit to XA nd the detetion voltge supplied to XA, if pplile). If wll soket is ville tht is ontrolled y the solr inverter/ energy mngement system, onnet the LAN dpter s follows: L N XA NOTICE Mke sure fst ting fuse or iruit reker is present in the setup (or s prt of the wll soket, or instll n externl one (rted urrent 00 ma~6 A)). 5. Finishing the LAN dpter instlltion 5.. LAN dpter seril numer 5.5. To open the LAN dpter Remove the srew with srewdriver. Pull the top of the front sing towrds you. Before losing the LAN dpter, note down its seril numer. This numer n e found on the dpter's Ethernet onnetor (ottommost numer on XA). Note it down in the tle elow. 9 6 Configurtion 6 Configurtion 6. Overview: Configurtion The LAN dpter is onfigured vi the: Configurtion we interfe DIP swith The LAN dpter is mostly plug-nd-ply. You ONLY hve to mke hnges to settings in the following ses: Cse Softwre updte: the softwre of the LAN dpter, indoor unit, or user interfe is NOT up-todte. Network settings: you wnt to mke hnges to the network settings (e.g. mke use of ustom, stti IP ddress). Smrt Grid: you wnt to use the LAN dpter in Smrt Grid pplition. Configurtion Updte to the required softwre. Follow the instrutions set out in "6. Updting softwre" on pge 9. Go to the onfigurtion we interfe nd hnge the network settings there. See "6. Configurtion we interfe" on pge 0 nd "6.. Network settings" on pge 0. Go to the onfigurtion we interfe nd mke Smrt Grid settings there. See "6. Configurtion we interfe" on pge 0 nd "6.. Ftory reset" on pge Updting softwre You n updte the LAN dpter softwre in the following wys: using the ROTEX Online Controller pp using miro SD rd using the onfigurtion we interfe For ese of use nd to sve time, it is reommended to updte the LAN dpter softwre using the pp. For the indoor unit nd user interfe to funtion with the LAN dpter, it is required tht their softwre meets requirements. ALWAYS mke sure the unit nd user interfe hve the ltest softwre version. For more informtion, see the ROTEX homepge. 6.. To updte with the Online Controller pp Prerequisite: The ROTEX Online Controller pp is instlled on your smrtphone, nd you reeived notifition tht new updte is ville. Open the pp nd strt the updte. Result: The new softwre is utomtilly downloded to the LAN dpter. Result: To implement hnges, the LAN dpter utomtilly performs power reset. Result: The LAN dpter softwre is now updted to the ltest version. During the softwre updte, the LAN dpter nd the pp CANNOT e operted. It is possile tht the user interfe of the indoor unit displys error U8-0. When the updte is finished, this error ode will dispper utomtilly. 6.. To updte with miro SD rd Prerequisite: You hve n empty miro SD rd with pity 56 MB~ GB. Insert the miro SD rd into the SD rd slot of your omputer. Go to the ROTEX homepge nd downlod the ltest LAN dpter softwre (zip file) to the root diretory of the miro SD rd. Unzip the zip file in the root diretory of the miro SD rd. Result: A folder ppers on the SD rd. In tht folder there is softwre file. Mke sure the power to the LAN dpter is turned OFF. 5 Insert the miro SD rd into the SD rd slot of the LAN dpter. 6 Turn ON the power to the LAN dpter. Result: The LAN dpter softwre is now updted to the ltest version. Result: To implement hnges, the LAN dpter utomtilly performs power reset. After the utomti power reset, the sttus LEDs go ON nd OFF lterntely for 5 times. After this, the hertet LED will strt flshing, inditing norml LAN dpter opertion. It n tke up to 0 minutes efore the LAN dpter is synhronised with the indoor unit. 6.. To updte using the onfigurtion we interfe Go to the ROTEX homepge nd downlod the ltest LAN dpter softwre (zip file) to your omputer. Unzip the zip file on your desktop. Go to the onfigurtion we interfe. On the onfigurtion we interfe, go to Uplod dpter SW. 5 Follow the uplod instrutions set out on the we interfe. Result: The LAN dpter softwre is now updted to the ltest version. Result: To implement hnges, the LAN dpter utomtilly performs power reset. After the utomti power reset, the sttus LEDs go ON nd OFF lterntely for 5 times. After this, the hertet LED will strt flshing, inditing norml LAN dpter opertion. It n tke up to 0 minutes efore the LAN dpter is synhronised with the indoor unit. For instrutions on how to ess the onfigurtion we interfe, see "6.. Aessing the onfigurtion we interfe" on pge 0. 10 6 Configurtion 6. Configurtion we interfe The LAN dpter is lrgely onfigured vi dedited onfigurtion we interfe. It llows you to mke hnges to network settings, nd onfigure the dpter for use of the system in Smrt Grid pplitions. Additionlly, it llows you to updte the LAN dpter softwre, nd perform ftory reset. If LAN dpters re present in the sme LAN network, onfigure them seprtely. 6.. Aessing the onfigurtion we interfe Normlly, you should e le to ess the onfigurtion we interfe y rowsing to its URL ( If this is NOT possile, workrounds re ville. Aess vi URL Prerequisite: Your omputer is onneted to the sme router the LAN dpter is onneted to. Prerequisite: The router supports DHCP. In your rowser, go to Workround - LAN dpter IP ddress Prerequisite: Your omputer is onneted to the sme network the LAN dpter is onneted to. Prerequisite: You hve retrieved the LAN dpter's IP ddress. In your rowser, go to the LAN dpter's IP ddress. To retrieve the LAN dpter's IP ddress, vrious wys re possile: Retrievl vi The ROTEX Online Controller pp Instrution In the pp, go to "Adpter informtion" > "IP ddress". Retrieve the LAN dpter's IP ddress. Your router's DHCP lient list Find the LAN dpter in the router's DHCP lient list. Retrieve the LAN dpter's IP ddress. Workround - DIP swith + fixed IP ddress Prerequisite: Your omputer is diretly onneted to the LAN dpter with n Ethernet le, nd is NOT onneted to ny network (wifi, LAN, ). Prerequisite: The power to the LAN dpter is OFF. Put DIP swith in the ON position. Turn ON the power to the LAN dpter. In your rowser, go to For RBRP069A6, 'power' is oth the power supplied y the indoor unit AND the 0 V AC detetion voltge supplied to XA. DIP swith" on pge Network settings To mke hnges to network settings, go to Network settings on the onfigurtion we interfe. To enle/disle DHCP To enle DHCP, selet Automti. To disle DHCP, selet Mnully. To define stti IP ddress Prerequisite: Mke sure Mnully is seleted. Fill in the desired network settings. To implement the settings, perform power reset on the dpter. 6.. Smrt Grid settings To mke hnges to Smrt Grid settings, go to Smrt Grid on the onfigurtion we interfe. 6.. Ftory reset To perform ftory reset, go to Ftory reset on the onfigurtion we interfe. Performing ftory reset is lso possile y wy of the DIP swith. For instrutions, see "6. DIP swith" on pge 0. To perform ftory reset Clik the reset utton elow Ftory reset. 6. DIP swith Some LAN dpter funtions re ontrolled y the DIP swith. The dpter ONLY heks the onfigurtion of the DIP swith fter power reset. To onfigure the DIP swith, therefore mke sure the power to the dpter is OFF. NOTICE Use pproprite tooling to set the DIP swithes to nother position. Bewre of eletrostti dishrge. By performing elow proedure, you n reset the LAN dpter to defult onfigurtion prmeters (i.e. those set in the onfigurtion we interfe). The ftory stte of the pin is "OFF". Proedure: Turn OFF the power. However, it is possile to ypss this protool nd tivte ustom stti IP ddress. This is useful in se you re NOT le to ess the onfigurtion we interfe utomtilly. For more informtion, see "6.. When you onnet the LAN dpter to the indoor unit, the system registers its presene utomtilly. The LAN dpter llows for the onnetion of the ROTEX system to photovolti system, minimising the power injetion into the grid, nd mximising the self-onsumption of the power generted y the photovoltis. The Smrt Grid pplition poses the following requirements to the ROTEX system: Item LAN dpter softwre Unit ontrol method Power onsumption ontrol settings Requirement It is reommended to ALWAYS keep the LAN dpter softwre up-to-dte. These inputs need to e ontrolled y n externl ontroller, suh s solr inverter, or home energy mngement system. On the onfigurtion we interfe, you n hoose wht to use s uffer: the domesti hot wter tnk only, or the domesti hot wter tnk nd the room. To use the room s uffer Mke the pproprite setting on the onfigurtion we interfe. Mke sure user interfe setting [C 07] is set to : RT Control. To use the domesti hot wter tnk s uffer Mke the pproprite setting on the onfigurtion we interfe. Mke sure domesti hot wter tnk is prt of the system. Mke sure user interfe setting [E 05] is set to : DHW. Mke sure user interfe setting [E 06] to : DHW tnk. The system will ONLY uffer energy when the indoor unit is in stndy mode. Norml opertion (sheduled tions, et.) hs priority over energy uffering. On the onfigurtion we interfe, the uffering is defult set to "domesti hot wter tnk only". The domesti hot wter setpoint during domesti hot wter tnk uffering is the mximum tnk temperture for the pplile tnk type. The spe heting/ooling setpoint during room uffering is the omfort setpoint for the room. 7.. Power limittion In "Reommended ON" opertion mode, the power onsumption of the ROTEX system is limited either sttilly or dynmilly. 12 8 Trouleshooting The eletril heters will ONLY operte when the power limittion is higher thn the power rting of the heters. For RRLQ0~06 outdoor units, the power limittion funtionlity is NOT ville. When these outdoor units re used in Smrt Grid system, they will operte without power limittion. Eletril heter ssistne, however, will e disled. Stti power limittion The power onsumption of the indoor unit is limited sttilly sed on fixed vlue (defult.5 kw) tht is set in the onfigurtion we interfe. During energy uffering, the power onsumption of the indoor unit will NOT exeed this limit. Dynmi power limittion To enle dynmi power limittion, the system requires n eletril meter. In this se, the power limittion is uto-dptive, nd dynmilly performed sed on the power injetion into the grid, mesured y the eletril meter. Mke sure to onnet the eletril meter in the orret diretion, so tht it mesures the totl energy injeted INTO the grid. For dynmi power limittion to e possile, single onnetion point to the grid is required (one onnetion point for the photovolti system AND the domesti pplines). To funtion properly, the Smrt Grid lgorithm requires the net sum of generted AND onsumed energy. The lgorithm will NOT work when there re seprte meters for generted energy nd onsumed energy. Sine dynmi power limittion is performed sed on eletril meter input, you do NOT hve to set the power limittion vlue in the onfigurtion we interfe. 7. "Fored OFF" mode In "Fored OFF" opertion mode, the externl ontroller n e set to trigger the system to detivte the opertion of the outdoor unit ompressor nd the eletril heters. This is espeilly useful when ontroller is ville tht n ret to high energy triffs. One tive, "Fored OFF" mode will use the system to stop spe heting/ooling, s well s domesti hot wter prodution. One onneted to run in one of the Smrt Grid opertion modes, the system will keep running in tht mode until the input stte is hnged. Corretive tion Mke sure tht the LAN dpter is orretly onneted to the indoor unit, nd tht the power of ll onneted equipment is turned ON. Perform power reset on the LAN dpter. Connet the LAN dpter to router. Connet the LAN dpter to router tht supports DHCP. Connet the omputer to the sme router s the LAN dpter. If none of the orretive tions work, try performing power reset of the totl system. 8.. Symptom: Router does not support DHCP In the rre se tht the router does NOT support DHCP, or this funtionlity is disled, you n use the following steps to ssign fixed IP ddress to the router: Set DIP swith to the "ON" position nd reset the dpter y turning the indoor unit OFF nd ON gin. Result: The dpter now uses fixed IP ddress ( ). Using n Ethernet le, onnet omputer diretly to the LAN dpter. In your rowser, go to the fixed IP ddress. Result: The onfigurtion we interfe opens. On the onfigurtion we interfe, go to Network settings, nd define fixed IP ddress (Stti IP ddress)(mke sure Mnully is seleted). 5 Turn OFF the power to the unit. 6 Set DIP swith k to the "OFF" position. 7 Turn ON the power to the unit.
