4 Charging your speaker - LED Indications Connecting your speakers - Buetooth / NFC Battery Status Indication The Sound Baster Roar ets you stream music wireessy. Power Saving For better user connectivity experience, the Sound Baster Roar wi now by defaut automaticay enter power saving mode ony after approximatey 28 hours of inactivity when the power adapter is attached via a main outet to the speaker. However, you have the option to keep the power on permanenty if needed. To Disabe Power saving mode with power adapter attached (For keeping your speaker ON permanenty): 1) Ensure that the speaker is powered ON and not connected to any other devices. 2) Press the Power and Voume + button together. The LED status indicator wi fash once to indicate power saving feature is disabed. To Enabe Power saving mode with power adapter attached: 1) Ensure that the speaker is powered ON and not connected to any other devices. 2) Press the Power and Voume - button together. The LED status indicator wi fash once to indicate power saving feature is enabed. Note: The speaker automaticay powers down when there is no Buetooth connection, recording using microsd card, microsd card payback or audio input for more than 15 minutes on battery mode. 6 Understanding TeraBass / feature Switching to USB Audio / TeraBass button inteigenty boost the bass and oudness of your music. You can pay digita audio from your PC/Mac with the Sound Baster Roar. Like our in-house reference systems, the Roar is tuned to be accurate, baanced, and we defined, whie deivering fu spectra output at maximium eves with minima or no compression. (NOT common in many battery operated portabes). At ow eve istening conditions, some peope may perceive audio differenty. Be it being ess sensitive to bass reproduction, in ess than idea environments or stricty persona preference. The TeraBass feature inteigenty compensates the oss of perceived oudness in bass during ow eve payback without artificiay over accentuating bass eves. However when sheer audio power is needed such as arge parties and socia gatherings the mode instanty boost the oudness, depth and spaciousness of the audio. Press TeraBass during music payback. Press the TeraBass button whie your music is paying and hear the difference! Enhance music payback from your PC/Mac with the powerfu Sound Baster Roar by connecting it with the USB cabe suppied. 1 Side the sider switch to USB Audio to connect USB Audio mode. 2 Connect the Sound Baster Roar to a PC/Mac. A tone is heard indicating USB audio is connected. * * If no tone is heard, disconnect the cabe from the computer, and start from Step 1 again. 3 Pay your music on the PC/Mac. Enhance your audio To enhance your digita music further, you can use the Sound Baster Contro Pane software. See next page. For added boost Connecting the Sound Baster Roar to the power adapter gives your music added voume boost. It is recommended to use a power adapter when using the feature. Note: If the Sound Baster Roar is not detected by the computer after your computer recovers from seep / hibernate / restart, pease Power OFF and ON the Sound Baster Roar to re-estabish the USB audio connection. 7 Instaing the Sound Baster Contro Pane Paying MP3 / WMA audio fies The Sound Baster Contro Pane enhances PC/Mac audio in rea time. Your Sound Baster Roar comes with a buit-in WMA/MP3 payer. The SBX Pro Studio technoogies such as SBX Bass and SBX Diaog Pus inteigenty enhance PC/Mac audio in rea time. 1 Connect the Sound Baster Roar to a PC/Mac with a USB cabe. 2 Visit downoads/roarpro/sbcp to downoad and insta the Sound Baster Contro Pane. * 3 Setting the defaut audio device. a. For Windows This setting wi be automaticay configured after Sound Baster Contro Pane is instaed. b. For Mac 1. Go to System Preferences and cick Sound. 2. Cick the Output tab and seect Sound Baster Roar Pro. * The Sound Baster Contro Pane requires the speaker to be connected to your computer as USB audio before it can be instaed. Besides streaming music from your smart phone wireessy via Buetooth, the Sound Baster Roar can aso pay audio fies on a microsd card with the buit-in WMA/MP3 payer. Payback tips You can pay WMA, WAV or MP3 fies. The Sound Baster Roar supports microsd or microsdhc cards up to 32GB. 1 Insert a microsd card. 2 Press. 3 Navigate through tracks. microsd Card To skip foders: Press and hod or during payback. OR Press or when payback is stopped. The Sound Baster Roar doubes up as a microsd card reader! To skip tracks (in Repeat A mode): Press or during payback. 1 Side the sider switch to USB Mass Storage to connect as USB Mass Storage mode. 2 Connect the speaker to a computer via USB cabe. 3 Insert a microsd card. 4 Browse or modify microsd card contents on your computer. Note: To switch back to USB Audio mode, side the sider switch to USB Audio. Depending on your operating system, a pop-up message may appear informing you that the Mass Storage Device has not been ejected propery. This is norma and not disruptive to your microsd card
8 Recording audio with your speaker Answering ca with your speaker Recording is made reay easy with the Sound Baster Roar. You can use the Sound Baster Roar as a speakerphone. If you need to record the song paying on your Sound Baster Roar or do a voice recording, just insert a microsd card and you re ready to go. 1 Insert a microsd card. 2 Seect source. microsd Card From buit-in microphone When your phone is connected to the Sound Baster Roar you can simpy answer cas without ifting your phone just press a button! 1 Connect your smart device. (Ensure the microphone is on) Recording specifications Audio recording is saved in WAV format in the VOICE foder. For recording, a Cass 4 microsd card is recommended. The defaut recording samping rate is at 16 khz. This is designed to record onger voice recording sessions (e.g. meetings) and avoid arge fie sizes. Recording from microphone aso records the audio coming out from Buetooth and Aux-in audio sources. Simutaneous WMA / MP3 audio payback using microsd card and audio recording is not supported. Switch on the microphone. Records voice and sounds picked up by the microphone. From Aux-in / Buetooth source Mute the microphone. Records Aux-in audio directy from your media payer or Buetooth device. 3 Press (REC) to start recording. Press (REC) again to stop recording. 4 Press (REC) to payback recordings. To skip recorded tracks: Press or during payback. Recording cas Press (REC) during a ca to start recording. In Bedtime Mode, audio payback from the microsd card wi graduay fade out within 15 or 30 minutes, after which the speaker wi power off automaticay. This is great for parents of young chidren you can record yoursef reading a bedtime story and pay it back to your chidren as they are about to seep. You can aso use it to pay music before you seep! 1 Insert a microsd card. 2 Start audio payback. To pay music fies: Press. To pay voice recordings: Press (REC). 3 Activate Bedtime Mode. 10 Next-Generation Persona P.A. System (with optiona iroar Mic) FAQ Transform the Sound Baster Roar Pro into the next generation portabe wireess Pubic Address (P.A.) System when paired with the Wireess iroar Mic*. The iroar Mic deivers cear and oud voice, which is great for power presentations, pubic speaking, teaching, storyteing or singing! It coud be a case of your phone or tabet having a firmware bug that makes it unabe to choose the right audio codec. The Sound Baster Roar can hep enhance compatibiity by disabing its advanced audio codec and switching ony to the basic codec*. However, we advise customers facing this probem to update your phone / tabet with the atest firmware before attempting the foowing steps beow which may just sove this probem. To bypass this bug (by disabing advanced audio codec) 1 Ensure that the speaker is Powered on 2 Press the Vo - and ROAR button together. (A voice prompt is heard indicating Advanced Codec disabed). The speaker wi reboot to remember your settings. 3 Power OFF and ON your audio device again 4 Connect to the Sound Baster Roar via Buetooth and pay music To restore advanced audio codec feature 1 Ensure that the speaker is Powered on 2 Press the Vo + and ROAR button together. (A voice prompt is heard indicating Advanced Codec enabed). The speaker wi reboot to remember your settings. 3 Power OFF and ON your audio device again 4 Connect to the Sound Baster Roar via Buetooth and pay music * You woud ony need to do this once and the Sound Baster Roar wi remember your preference. How do I disabe Voice Prompt? With the speaker powered ON, press both Voume and Mutifunction Button at the same time. A prompt is heard indicating voice prompt is disabed. How do I enabe Voice Prompt? On a speaker with disabed voice prompt, ensure that it is powered ON. Press both Voume + and Mutifunction Button at the same time. A prompt is heard indicating voice prompt is enabed. What do I do if I find that the speaker is not behaving the way it shoud? Shoud any of the above happens, we woud recommend that you master reset the speaker. In any state, press and hod the Power button for more than 10 seconds then press the Power button again to turn on the speaker. Aternativey You can perform a factory master reset to cear paired device ist. 1 Ensure your speaker is not connected to any Buetooth device. 2 With your speaker powered on, Press and hod the Mutifunction button unti the white LED binks rapidy.
