6 SICK AppSpace SOFTWARE SOFTWARE TOOLS FOR TAILOR-MADE APPLICATION SOLUTIONS WITH GOOD PROSPECTS The SICK AppSpace eco-system contains two software toos. SICK AppStudio is used for deveoping sensor apps for programmabe SICK sensors and Sensor Integration Machines (SIMs). SICK AppManager supports appication engineers in the fied with easy management and instaation of the sensor apps on programmabe devices. SICK uses a standard programming anguage and therefore saves the programmer from having to earn additiona anguages. A programmabe sensors from SICK are programmed on a standardized user interface, avoiding a time-consuming teach-in process for future projects. You automaticay receive a permanent software icense when joining the SICK AppSpace Deveoper's Cub. A partia icense is aso avaiabe if you want to try it out first. SICK AppStudio By deveopers for deveopers SICK AppStudio is a software too for deveoping customer-specific appications for programmabe SICK devices. Deveopers have a choice of numerous supported programming technoogies. To create the appications in the sensor, a graphica fow editor is there to provide assistance in addition to Lua script. The individua design of the user interface can be created with JavaScript or with the hep of a graphica UI buider (ViewBuider). HALCON image processing procedures can aso be integrated. Hepfu integrated toos such as emuators, debuggers, resource monitors, and an extensive range of documentation and sampe demo apps make the deveopment process extremey easy. This is achieved with its easy operabiity and cear presentation with ony three windows for dispaying connected programmabe devices, currenty oaded sensor apps and firmware versions as we as newy-avaiabe sensor apps and firmware packages. SICK AppManager can be used to access both oca sensor apps and apps from the SICK AppPoo (coud). The atter enabes convenient wordwide use of upoaded sensor apps and their assignment to programmabe SICK devices. A apps are stored in a protected area. You, the deveoper of the app, decide whether these can be used "pubicy" or "privatey" for a targeted group of users. What are apps at SICK? An app is an appication software which represents a sensor or device function. It consists of Lua script with function cas and wiring of the SICK Agorithm API. For exampe, HALCON agorithms can be integrated as additiona resources. The right parameters are prepared graphicay using a UI buider or JavaScript and presented on a web user interface. Using Lua programming, AppTempates can aso be further deveoped if needed for more compex appications or as a basis for new programming. Sensor apps are executabe programs for soving an appication. 23 INSPECTION OF CONTROL ELEMENTS WITH INSPECTORP65x Task CUSTOMIZED CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS SICK AppSpace To ensure that innovative touch operating eements, of dishwashers, for exampe, function reiaby for their entire service ife, service-ife tests must be carried out for the piot series of the operating eements. By means of a robotic system with a programmabe InspectorP65x camera, it must be ensured that the test finger on the robot arm can be directed in a repeatabe and precise manner. Soution A symbo on the touch operating eement is seected as a reference image which is used as the starting point for the robot program. The sensor app in the InspectorP65x is programmed in such a way that the camera mounted on the robot arm detects the operating eement using the reference image, and uses it to determine the position of the pushbuttons. The vaues are sent to the robot, which then moves into the actuation position in a repeatabe manner and tests the individua pushbuttons with the test finger. The signas of the pushbutton actuation are measured in order to find out whether the parameters change during the course of service ife. To ensure the required product quaity as we as consistent traceabiity aong the individua production steps, industria image processing is often used here. Soution The SIM4000 Sensor Integration Machine is used with two picocam304x 2D streaming cameras. With a resoution of 4 megapixes, the cameras are suitabe for both inspection tasks, e.g. for quaity contro activities such as component testing, and for identification tasks such as Data Matrix code reading on the printed circuit board. The SIM4000 carries out both appications with the hep of HALCON procedures and transfers the resuts to the higher-eve PLC via fiedbus. SICK AppStudio is used to program the appication. 25 RFID-BASED ACCESS CONTROL WITH RFU6xx Task CUSTOMIZED CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS SICK AppSpace To contro access to a defined area, a access rights and profies for authorized persons and vehices must be managed via software. Device-specific software is aso required to manage access contro and meet additiona safety requirements. Soution The appication software was programmed within SICK AppStudio and, when combined with RFU6xx RFID devices, provides a convenient and reiabe soution enabing fast access for over 350 vehices per hour. As the vehice approaches the barrier the RFU6xx devices read the content from the transponder mounted on the windshied. If accepted, access is then granted.
