HDLM fr AIX t AIX Knwn prblems 1) Precautins when deleting all HDLM devices n a server: When deleting all devices managed by HDLM a in lcal bt disk envirnment b, nte the fllwing tw items: If Aut Failback is set t ON, set it t OFF befre the deletin prcessing. After the deletin prcessing cmpletes, reset it back t ON. Withut this prcess, a server may crash due t an OS issue. D nt execute the fllwing prcedures while deleting the devices managed by HDLM. If executed, a server may crash due t an OS issue. Online peratin lspath/chpath/rmpath f the OS cmmand executin Ntes: a) This peratin will be perfrmed when perfrming the fllwing prcedures: The upgrade installatin, re-installatin r uninstallatin The deletin f all HDLM devices by dlmrmdev r rmdev cmmand in deleting LU. b) If using HDLM in the bt disk envirnment, these precautins are nt applicable. 2) Ntes fr executing DLMgetras utility: If yu specify a directry under an NFS munt pint as an utput destinatin and then execute DLMgetras utility, an empty directry named "DLMgetras_tmpdir.xxxx/the_specified_directry_name" may be created fr the utput destinatin directry ("xxxx" is an ptinal numeric value). Operatin name = view, cmpletin time = 2018/05/09 15:19:56 3) Ntes n HAM envirnments In the case f displaying the LU infrmatin, the HAM infrmatin is nt utput by specifying the "all" parameter-value fr the HDLM cmmand. Specify the "ha" and "hastat" parameter-value instead. An nline peratin is perfrmed n an wner path, a nn-wner path's status may change t Offline(E). After perfrming an nline peratin n an wner path, use the HDLM cmmand t make sure that the nn-wner path's status is Online. If the nnwner path's status is Offline(E), change the status f HAM pairs t PAIR, and then perfrm an nline peratin n the Offline(E) path again. When yu set up a HAM pair t be managed by HDLM, make sure that the hst recgnizes paths t the MCU (Primary VOL) and RCU (Secndary VOL) after the HAM pair is created. Execute the dlnkmgr view -lu -item hastat peratin. If ha is nt displayed in the HaStat clumn, then the crrespnding LU is nt recgnized as being in a HAM cnfiguratin. If the hst recgnizes the paths t the MCU and RCU befre the HAM pair is created, restart the hst after the HAM pair is created. If yu release a HAM pair t recver the system after a HAM vlume failure, d nt restart a hst that is cnnected t the MCU and RCU while the HAM pair is released. If yu need t restart the hst while the HAM pair is released, discnnect all paths t the MCU and RCU, restart the hst, re-create the HAM pair, and then recnnect the paths. If yu restart a hst that is cnnected t the MCU and RCU while the HAM pair is released, the RCU vlume will be recgnized as a vlume ther than an MCU vlume. If this ccurs, restart the hst after the HAM pair is re-created. Execute the dlnkmgr view -lu -item hastat peratin, and then cnfirm that ha is displayed in the HaStat clumn.
