13 Stadaloe Trasfer Egie Overview Stadaloe Trasfer Egie Overview Whe AirSpeed 5000 is cofigured with a stadaloe Trasfer Egie it operates i eviromets where you have local or shared storage without Iterplay. I a Stadaloe eviromet, the Trasfer Egie (TM) applicatio uses FTP fuctioality to act as the trasfer aget betwee the Avid editors ad the AirSpeed 5000 Remote Cosole applicatio. With a Stadaloe Trasfer Egie cofiguratio, AirSpeed 5000 uses oly its ow iteral storage for storig clips ad supports playig out to air via drag ad drop usig the AirSpeed 5000 Remote Cosole. I this cofiguratio, clips are visible through Remote Cosole evet listigs ad ca be used to drag ad drop files i eviromets where multiple video servers are used. The stadaloe cofiguratio supports playout automatio applicatios such as inews Commad, DNF cotrollers ad other solutios usig VDCP or AMS API. Iterplay Trasfer Egie does ot support Studio playout. Whe cofigured with a Stadaloe Trasfer Egie (Iterplay Trasfer Egie), the trasfer of clips from AirSpeed 5000 (via the Remote Cosole) to the Editor must be doe maually. 14 Stadaloe Trasfer Egie Overview Cofiguratio Requiremets for AirSpeed 5000 Server Before cofigurig the AirSpeed 5000 Remote Cosole for stadaloe eviromet, each AirSpeed 5000 server that you wat to coect to must have bee cofigured with the followig: Site-specific settigs eed to be applied for the AirSpeed 5000 to operate with a stadaloe Trasfer Egie. A site-specific host ame/domai ame must have bee created for the AirSpeed 5000, icludig a IP address ad mask for the etwork iterface. The E: drive must be shared with at least Read Oly privileges. Oce these requiremets are met, ad you have istalled all of the ecessary hardware ad software for your site, you ca cofigure the AirSpeed 5000 Remote Cosole for a Stadaloe eviromet. It is recommeded that the XferMgrServer.exe is lauched prior to lauchig the Avid editor to avoid havig to recoect the Avid editor to the stadaloe Iterplay Trasfer Egie. If the XferMgrServer.exe is lauched followig lauch of the Avid editor applicatio, the User must select the Trasfer, Recoect to server meu optio to recoect the Avid editor to the stadaloe Iterplay Trasfer Egie Server. Therefore, if you ever wat to coect to that (or ay other previously coected to) AirSpeed 5000 server, you ca simply select it from the list. t For Iterplay Productio eviromets, the Select Servers dialog box opes. Select a server ad click OK. I order for servers to populate i the dialog box, you must have your user cofigured properly i the User s Page of the AirSpeed Maagemet Cosole, as well as i Iterplay. Oce coected to a server, you ca view Chael ad Ivetory iformatio for that server. If you are cofigured i a Iterplay Productio mode, the servers appearig i the Server Host Name list cosist of the AirSpeed 5000 servers that are i the Iterplay Workgroup that you are coected to. Oce coected, Chael ad Ivetory iformatio for that AirSpeed 5000 server is loaded ito the AirSpeed 5000 Remote Cosole with a Server tab just above the Ivetory pael, showig the host ame of that AirSpeed 5000 server. 2. (Optioal) Repeat Step 1 to coect to additioal AirSpeed 5000 servers. Click Add to add the selected server to the Cofigured Servers list. The Cofigured Servers list displays the AirSpeed 5000 servers that are cofigured for use by the stadaloe Trasfer Egie. 7. (Optioal) To remove a server from the Cofigured Servers list, select the server you wat to remove ad click the Delete butto. 8. (For MPEG-2 HD (XDCAM) capable systems) To eable Sed to Playback (STP) of MPEG-2 HD clips, select the compressio format you wat to use for your trasfers from the XDCAM STP Format list. For all systems that are ot capable of MPEG-2 HD (XDCAM) formats, you ca leave this field blak. 9. Click the Update butto to save your chages. You will be asked to restart the Trasfer Egie. Click OK. 10. Maually stop ad restart the Trasfer Egie. At this poit, the server is cofigured for igest ad playback. For MPEG-2 HD (XDCAM) servers, a profile is geerated that allows you to sed to playback MPEG-2, 720p or 1080i media. This will be deoted by the <AirSpeed5000serverame>-HD i the Avid editor upo sedig a MPEG-2 HD sequece to playback. 11. Next, you must start the Iterplay Trasfer Egie o the Avid Editor. To maually cofigure the Iterplay Trasfer Egie for a Stadaloe Eviromet: 1. O your Avid editor, select Start > All Programs > Avid > Avid Iterplay Trasfer Egie Cofiguratio. The Avid Iterplay Trasfer Egie Cofiguratio widow opes. 2. I the Stadaloe Settigs sectio, esure that the AAF optio is selected. For more iformatio o the Stadaloe Settigs area, refer to the Avid Uity TrasferMaager Versio Release Notes. 3. Click the Browse butto to avigate to the locatio o your local volume (e.g., C:\), i which the media will be trasferred to. For example: C:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1. If this directory does ot exist, import ay supported file ito the editor. The directory will automatically be created, ad the you ca avigate to it, ad copy ad paste the path i the Directory of icomig trasfers field. 19

Whe Stadaloe is selected, it also sets the proper buffer size to 8MB. 5. Select the Cofigure FTP Servers butto. The FTP Cofiguratio dialog box opes. 20

I the Password field, type the password for the user you etered i the Userame field. d. I the Default Directory field, type the path /active/clips. e. Click OK. 21

The FTP Server dialog box opes. 9. Complete the followig fields for the MPEG-2 HD (XDCAM) profile as istructed (leave the default i the remaiig fields): a. I the Hostame field, type the ame of the AirSpeed 5000 server. b. I the Userame field, type the ame of the user. c. I the Password field, type the password for the user you etered i the Userame field. d. I the Default Directory field, type the path /active/clips. e. I the Server Type list box, select OP1A_EXPORT. f. I the Playback Format list box, select the MPEG-2 HD format that you wat to trasfer. g. Click OK. 22

Verify that the Playback trasfers eabled check box is selected. b. Click the Add butto. The Playback Device dialog box opes. 23

I the Device ame field, type the ame of the editor that you are usig for FTP trasfers as follows: - If you are trasferrig AVC-Itra, DNXHD, ad SD formats, you must add a Playback device ame for these formats, by typig it as follows: [Name of editor]:6534/[name of AirSpeed 5000] - If you are trasferrig MPEG-2 HD (XDCAM) formats, you must add a secod Playback device ame for HD, by typig it as follows: [Name of AirSpeed 5000]-HD b. If you wat to allow acillary data tracks to be trasferred, select the Allow Acillary Data Tracks check box. c. Leave the Eable Playback Catalog Name check box deselected. d. Click OK. 13. The ( / ad \ ) characters behave as folder level separators. 6 Time Code / Elapsed Displays the time code or elapsed time of the curretly loaded clip. The default is Time Code. To toggle (chage) the field ame display betwee Time Code ad Elapsed, right-click o the field, ad select the ame that you wat to display from the meu. 7 Duratio / Remaiig Displays the duratio or time remaiig of the curretly loaded clip. The default is Duratio. To toggle (chage) the field ame display betwee Duratio ad Time Remaiig, right-click o the field, ad select the ame that you wat to display from the meu. You ca also chage the duratio or time remaiig of a curretly recordig clip by clickig i the field to eable editig, the typig the duratio directly i the field. The Remote Cosole Playlist eables you to easily create Playlists ad execute some basic tasks usig these Playlists. A Playlist ca support up to 24 hours of video, ad up to 1000 clips. Viewig Clip Properties ad Modifyig Clip Behavior The Remote Cosole eables you to view clip properties ad modify clip behavior. To view ad modify clip properties: 1. However, i order to geerate Proxy clips, ad view them i the AirSpeed 5000 Remote Cosole Ivetory View, the followig must be doe: A H.264 Proxy Ecode licese must be activated o your server. The Proxy Eabled check box must be selected i the Record Templates page of the AirSpeed 5000 Maagemet Cosole. The Proxy Viewer is oly available whe you are coected to a AirSpeed 5000 server. For more iformatio, see Selectig Clips o page Use the Proxy Viewer buttos, keyboard shortcuts, or mouse scroll wheel to locate the spot where you wat to set the Mark I or Mark Out poit of the clip. You ca also chage the Mark I ad Mark Out poits by typig them i the Ivetory Pael as described i Modifyig Mark I/Mark Out Poits for Clips i the Playlist o page 75. The timecode will chage to reflect the I or Out poit of the clip. 3. Whe you are at the locatio you are lookig for, do oe of the followig: a. Type I to mark the ew I poit of the clip. b. Type O to mark the Out poit of the clip. You will otice the duratio of the clip chages i both the Duratio field of the Proxy Viewer, ad the Duratio field i the Ivetory pael. If you chaged the I poit, the clip will play from the ew I poit, ad cueig the clip will ow cue to the ew I poit. If you chaged the Out Poit, the clip will stop playig at the ew Out poit. 4. You ca create Playlists for up to the total umber of Playout chaels o the selected AirSpeed 5000 or AirSpeed Multi Stream server. Oce you eable the View Playlists mode of the AirSpeed 5000 Remote Cosole, you ca create a Playlists for the Remote Cosole chael by simply draggig ad droppig clips from the Ivetory pae ito the desired Chael Playlists. I the Playlist, you ca mix SD ad HD clips, as well as clips with differet aspect ratios. A Playlist ca support up to 24 hours of video, ad up to 1000 clips. Empty Playlists appear to the right of each chael, ad a check mark appears i the View Playlist meu item to idicate that the View Playlist mode is eabled.
