(Optioal) To remove a server from the Cofigured Servers list, select the server you wat to remove ad click the Delete butto. 5. (For MPEG-2 HD (XDCAM) capable systems) To eable Sed to Playback (STP) of MPEG-2 HD clips, select the compressio format you wat to use for your trasfers from the XDCAM STP Format list. For all systems that are ot capable of MPEG-2 HD (XDCAM) formats, you ca leave this field blak. 6. Click the Update butto to save your chages. You will be asked to restart the Trasfer Egie. Click the Browse butto to avigate to the locatio o your local volume (e.g., C:\), i which the media will be trasferred to. For example: C:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1. If this directory does ot exist, import ay supported file ito the editor. The directory will automatically be created, ad the you ca avigate to it, ad copy ad paste the path i the Directory of icomig trasfers field. 4. I the System Settigs area, i the Storage list, esure that Stadaloe is already selected. If ot, select it. Whe Stadaloe is selected, it also sets the proper buffer size to 8MB. 25

To verify your Remote Cosole is cofigured properly: 1. Record a clip ad verify that the media files are copied to the destiatio workspace you specified. 2. Depedig o the mode you are cofigured as, do oe of the followig: t For Stadaloe mode, from the AirSpeed 5000 Remote Cosole, select a clip, ad drag ad drop it to your Editor bi. Lauch the Trasfer Status tool to make sure the clip is trasferred to the editor. If your system is cofigured for DNxHD 185/220, for a 4-chael model server, you will oly see two (2) chaels. For a 2-chael model server, you will oly see oe (1) chaels. You ca click ad drag a clip from the Ivetory pae to a chael Precue area or Load area. If you drag it to the Precue area, the clip gets precued to play. Followig is a example of the Timescale bar: I the Timescale bar, you ca click aywhere ad release the mouse butto without draggig, it will move the widow to that locatio. If the positio marker is withi the scrub bar widow, the widow will follow the curret time durig playback fast forward, or rewid. You ca also click ad drag left or right to chage the time scale. Draggig left compresses time, decreasig resolutio, while draggig right expads time, icreasig resolutio to smaller values. The draggig behavior is expoetial. You ca drag all the way to the left ad the scrub bar represets the etire clip, which is the default whe a clip is loaded. Drag all the way to the right ad mior ticks represet idividual frames but it will stop before those ticks spread apart much. 75 Right-Click Meus Right-Click Meu Descriptio I Advaced Trasport View, right-clickig aywhere i the Media Timelie (scrub bar) displays a meu, allowig you to: Show all media - Chages the visible rage of the Media timelie (scrub bar) to iclude the etire media of the master clip (eve outside the master clip's I ad Out locatios). Normally, clips are cued to play betwee their I ad Out poits. Selectig this optio recues the clip o the chael to allow playig or scrubbig outside the clip's curret I ad Out poits. Media outside this rage will appear i dark gray. This allows the I ad Out poits to be set outside this rage. This optio is disabled whe the playlist is locked. Reset i/out - Resets the soft I ad Out markers to the actual I ad Out locatios of the clip. This optio clears the curret I ad Out markers ad restores them to their origial poits (similar to pressig the g keyboard shortcut) without reloadig the clip o the chael. If you fid that you caot scrub i all locatios of the clip, it is likely a operatio was performed that caused the visible rage of the Media Timelie to exceed the loaded rage of the clip. To fix this, try reloadig the clip. Modify clip - Chages the actual I ad Out locatios of the clip i the ivetory. Normally, the I ad Out markers i the Advaced Trasport are "soft", meaig that chagig them does ot affect either the rage of the clip itself, or the rage that the clip was last loaded o the chael. This optio ca be used to edit the I ad Out locatios of the origial clip, i the evet they were ot set correctly the first time ad eed to be adjusted. Create ew Subclip - This optio is simply a shortcut to the correspodig Subclip butto ear the bottom-left of the Advaced Trasport. Use it to create a ew subclip with the rage defied by the curret ("soft") I ad Out marker locatios. This allows you to create ew subclips without modifyig the origial clip. See Creatig Subclips i the Advaced Trasport View o page

76 Right-Click Meus Right-Click Meu Descriptio Subclip from left - Creates a subclip betwee the I marker ad the Positio bar, ad the updates the I marker to the curret time. This optio ca be used to chop a master clip ito ay umber of subclips (from left to right) without touchig the I ad Out markers explicitly. Just positio the curret time at the locatio of each desired cut, from left to right, ad select the Subclip from left optio for each cut. As usual, if you specify either a Video ID or Video Name for subclips, a auto-icremeted suffix will be appeded to each clip to group them by default, util you clear it or reame it. The Subclip from left optio is ot available if the Positio bar is ot positioed betwee a I ad Out poit. See Creatig Subclips i the Advaced Trasport View o page 118. Subclip from right - Creates a subclip betwee the Positio bar ad the Out marker, ad the updates the Out marker to the curret time. This is similar to the Subclip from left optio, except it allows you to chop a clip ito multiple subclips from right to left, istead of from left to right. See Creatig Subclips i the Advaced Trasport View o page 118. The Subclip from right optio is ot available if the Positio bar is ot positioed betwee a I ad Out poit. Go to head frame - Moves the curret time of the chael to the curret headframe set poit. Set head frame - Chages the locatio of the headframe set poit to the curret locatio (time) of the chael.. If the I poit of the clip chages, the headframe will ot chage. So, it is possible that i the evet the I poit gets moved past the headframe, the headframe could be out side of the clip. To reset the headframe to the I poit, load the clip i the Advaced Trasport, make sure the curret time is at the I poit (or wherever you desire), right-click i the Scrub Bar ad select Set head frame. 76
