Before usng ST70, ensure that the Commssonng Procedures (n the ST70 User Reference Manual) have been successfully carred out. EMC conformance All Raymarne equpment and accessores are desgned to the best ndustry standards for use n the recreatonal marne envronment. The desgn and manufacture of Raymarne equpment and accessores assures complance wth the approprate Electromagnetc Compatblty (EMC) regulatons, but correct nstallaton s requred to ensure that performance s not compromsed. Informaton The nformaton n ths gude s vald for ST70 Instruments and systems whch have been nstalled and commssoned n accordance wth the correct Raymarne procedures. 3 CANCEL ENTER MENU Card1 ST70 nstrument - gettng started Swtch on/off & ntroducton Swtchng on your ST70 Instrument To swtch on your ST70 nstrument, hold down for 1 second. The nstrument powers up and shows the page that was dsplayed when the power was last swtched off. Note: If power to a system to whch ST70 nstruments s connected s swtched centrally (e.g.from a central crcut breaker), the on/off condton of each ndvdual nstrument when system power s appled reverts to what t was when the system power was last swtched off. See the ST70 User Reference Manual for system power protocol. Important Do not use the nstrument untl t has been commssoned as descrbed n the ST70 User Reference Manual. If you power up and a CHOOSE LANGUAGE page s dsplayed, the nstrument has not been commssoned snce t was nstalled, so you need to carry out the commssonng procedure before usng the nstrument. Press and release to dsplay the brghtness adjust popup. 2. Use < or > to set the requred screen brghtness. 3. Press ENTER to accept the new brghtness settng and return to your operatonal page. You can choose from three daytme and three nght-tme settngs Choosng colors 1. Go to Man Menu Wth any operatonal page dsplayed, press MENU, to dsplay the Man Menu, then use < or > to scroll to the Dsplay Settngs opton. Press ENTER to show the Dsplay Settngs menu. Man Menu Dsplay Settngs D Go to Colors select box At the Dsplay Settngs menu, use < or > to scroll to the Colors opton. Press ENTER to dsplay the Colors select box. Dsplay Settngs Colours Select the dsplay colours. D Select opton At the Colors select box, use < or > to select the color scheme that best suts your current vewng condtons. A range of mperal, metrc and nautcal unts s avalable. Use the procedure on ths card to choose the unts you want. Choosng data unts 1. Select Man Menu Press MENU to dsplay the Man Menu then use < or > to scroll to Dsplay Settngs. Press ENTER to dsplay the Dsplay Settngs menu. Man Menu Dsplay Settngs 2. Intal actons At the Dsplay Settngs menu, use < or > to scroll to the Unts opton. Dsplay Settngs D Unts Change the default unt settngs. 3. Unts summary Press ENTER to show a summary of the Unts currently appled. the second Unts summary page. If you do not want to change any unts, press CANCEL. 11 Card5 ST70 nstrument - organzng your pages Swtchng pages off & on If you need to quckly access only certan pages, you can swtch off the pages you do not need, and thus reduce the tme t takes to access the requred pages. Ths s a partcularly useful feature f you are usng the automatc rollover to select pages (see Card 6). Use the procedure on ths card to swtch pages off or back on agan, as requred. Swtchng pages on & off 1. Go to Man Menu Press MENU to dsplay the Man Menu then use < or > to scroll to Page Layout. Press ENTER to dsplay the Page Layout menu. Man Menu Page Layout 2. Select the page you want to swtch off At the Page Layout menu, use < or > to select the page you want to change. Press ENTER to dsplay the Setup optons menu for the selected page. 3. Select turn page on/off Use < or > to scroll to Turn page on/off. Press ENTER to dsplay the on/off select box.. Page Layout Select the page you wsh to confgure.. Press CANCEL to select the Man Menu.. 3. Press CANCEL to return to your operatonal page: If you swtched a page Off, the operatonal page s the next n sequence after the swtched off page. If you swtched a page On, then ths becomes the operatonal page.
13 Card6 ST70 nstrument - organzng your pages Settng page rollover You can set a rollover value so that operatonal pages are automatcally dsplayed n sequence, one after the other. Use the procedure on ths card to: Set a rollover perod and actvate the automatc rollover. Swtch off the rollover to return to manual page selecton. Settng rollover 1. Select Man Menu Press MENU to dsplay the Man Menu then use < or > to scroll to Dsplay Settngs. Press ENTER to dsplay the Dsplay Settngs menu. Man Menu Dsplay Settngs 2. Intal actons At the Dsplay settngs menu, use < or > to scroll to the Rollover opton. Press ENTER to show the Rollover setup box. Dsplay Settngs D Rollover Automatc page rollover D Set rollover value or swtch rollover off If you want the operatonal pages to cycle round automatcally, use < or > to set the rollover to the number of seconds you want each operatonal page to be dsplayed. Note: If you are usng the rollover feature, t s recommended you swtch off pages you do not requre (see Card 5). If you want to stop the rollover and manually select your operatonal pages, use < or > to set the rollover to OFF. Rollover 4 Secs < & > adjust rollover perod. CANCEL exts wthout savng. Changng nformaton 1. Go to Man Menu Press MENU to dsplay the Man Menu then use < or > to scroll to Page Layout. Press ENTER to dsplay the page select menu. 19 Card9 ST70 nstrument - organzng your pages Resettng data Resettable data The maxmum, mnmum and average runnng values of some data are accrued n the nstrument. You can reset these values usng the procedure on ths card. Most data reset to ther current values. An excepton s the trp log, whch resets to zero. Reset procedure 1. Requrement Make sure that the data you want to reset s dsplayed n at least one of the frames on your current operatonal page, then: 2. Enter Man Menu Press MENU to dsplay the Man Menu then f necessary, use < or > to scroll to the data you want to reset. 3. Reset data When you have selected the data, press ENTER. Ths resets the data and returns you to the operatonal page dsplayed before you started the reset procedure. Man Menu Reset maxmum depth Press ENTER to reset data D9339-1

If your ST70 nstrument s recevng GPS data, you can use the procedure on ths card to set the correct local tme as your system tme. Set the tme 1. Go to Man Menu Press MENU to dsplay the Man Menu then use < or > to scroll to Dsplay Settngs. Press ENTER to dsplay the Dsplay settngs menu. Man Menu Dsplay Settngs 2. Select Tme & Date At the Dsplay Settngs menu, use < or > to scroll to the Tme and & Date opton. Dsplay Settngs D Tme & Date 3. Tme & Date summary Press ENTER. A summary of the tme and date nformaton s then dsplayed. Change the default tme and date settngs. Tme & Date Tme 11:01:03 Date 14/06/07 Tme Offset -1 Hrs Tme Format 24-hour Date Format dd/mm/yy D These are your current settngs. 4. Select tme offset Wth the summary page dsplayed, press ENTER to dsplay the Tme & Date menu. Use < or > to scroll to the Set tme offset opton. Select Dsplay Settngs Press MENU to dsplay the Man Menu then use < or > to scroll to Dsplay Settngs. Press ENTER to dsplay the Dsplay Settngs menu. Man Menu Dsplay Settngs 2. Select Tmers At the Dsplay Settngs menu, use < or > to scroll to the Tmers opton, then press ENTER. to dsplay the Tmers menu. 25 Card12 ST70 nstrument - alarms Alarm events Alarm ndcatons A range of alarm functons are avalable, to alert you to partcular events. When an alarm occurs, a popup box s dsplayed and an audble alarm ndcaton may sound. The popup dentfes the reason for the alarm. You can ether: Slence the alarm or Change the parameters for that partcular alarm. If an alarm occurs Depth 9.0 To slence the alarm, press CANCEL. To change the alarm parameters, press ENTER, to dsplay the alarm setup box. Use the procedures detaled, n steps 3 and 4 on,card 13, to set the parameters you want for the actve alarm. Alarm events The followng alarm functons are supported by ST70, although they may not all be applcable to your system. 27 Card13 ST70 nstrument - alarms Settng alarms For each alarm, you can: Dsable or enable the alarm. Set the level at whch the alarm operates. Settng up alarms 1. Enter alarm setup Press MENU to select the Man Menu then use < or > to scroll to Alarms. Press ENTER to dsplay the Alarms select menu. Man Menu Alarms 2. Select the alarm you want to set Use < or > to scroll to the alarm you want to select. Note: A complete lst of alarms s gven on Card 12. Press ENTER to dsplay the Alarm setup box. Alarms D Set alarm status Press to select the upper (alarm status) adjust box. Use < or > to select the alarm status: Off - dsables the alarm. On - enables the alarm. 4.
