In the latter case, the customer must check the network confguraton so as to make sure that the system can perform the notfcaton actons. Alternatvely, the system can be connected to a CARELapproved external GSM modem. For each notfcaton (e.g. sendng an alarm sgnal to three dfferent recpents va e-mal), a test must be performed for each ndvdual recpent, so as to verfy correct system confguraton (the e-mal address or mal server confguraton may be wrong). To run the tests, follow the notfcaton test procedure descrbed n the user manual. For notfcatons va SMS, make sure that the GSM modem connected to PlantWatchPRO can effectvely send SMS messages (e.g. check sgnal coverage, make sure the SIM has credt, check correct operaton of the modem and the connecton to PlantWatchPRO.). For notfcatons va fax, make sure that the recevng fax applance s correctly connected to the telephone lne, s swtched on and has enough toner and paper to receve the fax notfcatons. The nternatonal modem settngs must be confgured n accordance wth the country where the unt s nstalled. Check compatblty between the remote and local modems, by runnng a communcaton test. Safety warnngs For adequate protecton of the systems aganst any possble problems that may arse, two dfferent physcal communcaton channels should be used (e.g. PSTN and GSM modem, or ADSL and relay) so that the alarm sgnals can be sent and receved wth certanty. Alternatvely, a guaranteed Ethernet connecton n a company network can be used. To check correct operaton of PlantWatchPRO and the communcaton channel, enable the sgn-oflfe sgnal, settng a frequency compatble wth the mportance of the system beng montored and the damage that may occur due to malfunctons (e.g. every 4 hours for refrgeraton systems). The guardan component of the software (see the manual for further detals) should be confgured so that ths notfes any problem stuatons (n partcular, alarms not managed). Guardan notfcatons must be sent va all physcal channels avalable and enabled (f a notfcaton channele.g. fax - s not workng correctly, the guardan must be able to use another e.g. SMS wth GSM modem so that safety of the system s always ensured).
