Cut out the crcut breaker before workng on the devce rsk of electrc shock. Do not touch the dsplay wth sharp or ponted objects. The touch senstve surface could be damaged. Do not use sharp objects for cleanng. Do not use strong cleanng agents, acds or organc solvents. Falure to observe the nstructons may cause damage to the devce and result n fre and other hazards. These nstructons are part of the product and must be left wth the customer. 2. Techncal overvew 1 (1) Touch screen surface (1) 3. Functon System nformaton Ths devce s a product of the KNX system and comples wth KNX drectves. Techncal knowledge obtaned n KNX tranng s a necessary prerequste. The functonalty of ths devce depends on the software. rmaton on loadable software and attanable functonalty as well as the software tself can be obtaned from the manufacturer s product database. Plannng, nstallaton and startup of the devce takes place va KNX certfed software. You wll fnd the most current product database, techncal descrptons as well as converson software and other tools on the Internet. Operaton Screen elements The functons as well as the appearance of the screen depend on programmng. Thus t s dfferent for each system. (2) Status lne (3) Screen page (4) Control or dsplay element (5) Scroll bar (6) Functon keys Touch-senstve surface The dsplay screen features a touch-senstve surface, the so-called touch screen. The devce s operated by touchng the screen surface wth the fnger or by specal touch screen pens (not ncluded). (6) Do not use sharp objects. The surface could be damaged affectng the operaton of the devce. Control and dsplay elements (4) ndcate states, take you to other pages or symbolze devces, functons to be controlled and components, e.g. lghtng fxtures, blnds, heatng devces and ar condtoners etc.. Scroll bar The scroll bar (5) s used to navgate through one or several pages. Pressng the arrow keys wll let you swtch between the key elements. Double arrow keys: vsble only, f connected pages are avalable. The dsplay wll swtch to a connected page. Arrow keys: Swtchng between the dsplay elements of the current page. 2/07 Page 2 of 8

3 Functon keys There s a maxmum of four functon keys (6) avalable for each control element (4) whch can be dsplayed and operated after selectng the control element. Selectng functons/consumers In order to use a functon, t has to be selected frst. Actvate the page wth the element that represents the functon to be dsplayed or controlled. Select the desred element wth the fnger. The screen swtches the dsplay. - or the approprate functon keys wll be dsplayed. The functon can be operated. Actuatng functons or consumers The operaton depends on the type of the respectve functon. The respectve functon must be selected and the functon keys must be dsplayed. Swtchng: Brefly actuate the respectve functon key. Dmmng: Actuate the respectve functon key for a long tme. Movng blnds: Actuate the respectve functon key for a long tme. Stoppng or adjustng blnds: Brefly actuate the respectve functon key. Selectng lght scenes: Brefly actuate the respectve functon key. Settng values, e.g. actual brghtness or temperature value: Actuate the respectve functon key brefly. Adjustng value wth drect nput: After selectng the functon key, the screen wll dsplay a keypad. Enter the value as a number and confrm by pressng Save. Adjustng values wth slder: After the selectng the functon key, the screen wll dsplay a slder, the adjustment range and the current value. Change the value by adjustng the slder and confrm by pressng Save. Settng the tmer Tmer functons must have been stored n the devce durng programmng. Select tmer page. Select the desred tmer functon and press Change. The swtchng tmes for the selected tmer functon wll be dsplayed. Select the swtchng tme to be changed. The page showng the selected swtchng tme wll be dsplayed. Select Tme of day and enter the desred swtchng tme va the keypad. Accept nput by pressng Save. Select Day of the week and enter the desred weekday. Actvated days of the week are ndcated by an X. Specfy the desred acton, e.g. on/off, dmmng value or smlar. Accept the entry by pressng Save. The swtchng tmes for the selected tmer functon wll be dsplayed. If requred, set other swtchng tmes. Select the swtchng tme to be changed and carry out the steps as descrbed. Complete the entry and accept the settngs: Press Save. Complete the entry and do not accept the settngs: Press Cancel. Deletng the swtchng tmes Open the Tmer page. Select the desred tmer functon and press Change. The swtchng tmes for the selected tmer functon wll be dsplayed. Select the memory to be deleted. The page wth the selected swtchng tme wll be dsplayed. Select Delete data and accept the entry by pressng Save. Complete the entry and accept the settngs: Press Save. 4 Changng lght scenes Lght scene functons must have been created durng programmng of the devce. Open the Lght scene page. Select the desred lght scene. The selected lght scene s hghlghted. Press (<1 sec) the Call memory key brefly n order to call up the lght scene. Change the name of the lght scene: Press the Change text key and change the name usng the keyboard. Complete the entry by pressng Cancel or accept by pressng Save. Press the Change scene key. The selected scene wll be called up and the correspondng values wll be adjusted. The lghtng fxtures, blnds etc. avalable for the lght scenes wll be dsplayed together wth the current values. Enter values for the desred devces wth the functon keys, e.g. On, Off, 70 %. Specfy Unch. - unchanged - for those devces that are not part of the lght scene and that are not to be changed. Complete the entry and accept the settngs: Press Save Back. Complete the entry and do not accept the settngs: Press Cancel back. Qut the Lght scenes page: Press Back. It s also possble to save a scene by frst adjustng the scene manually. After that, hghlght the desred scene on the Lght scenes page and press Call memory for > 5 sec. In ths case, the devce reads and saves the status of all devces ncluded n the scene that are not declared as Unch. unchanged. Password protecton The operaton of the devce can completely or partally be protected aganst unauthorsed use. For ths purpose, the devce can handle up to four fve dgt passwords whch are herarchcally arranged n levels. If the devce requests a password, the password for the requested level has to be entered. The default settngs for the passwords are 11111, 22222, 33333, If one or several passwords got lost, t s possble to reconstruct them. Please contact a qualfed KNX electrcan. Enter password protected page The devce asks you to enter a password. The correspondng level wll be dsplayed. The password wll be dsplayed wth astersks. The frst dgt s underlned. Enter the password for the requested level. Possble characters are the numercal characters If the entry was correct, the desred page wll be mmedately dsplayed. Openng the servce page Startng form the servce page, pages for the screen and system settngs as well as the cleanng functon can be accessed. Press the Servce page functon key. The Servce page branches to the sub pages Dsplay settngs, System settngs and Admnstrator. Settng the touch accuracy of the screen Press Dsplay settngs. Press Touch calbraton. The screen dsplays several ponts n sequence. Press the mddle of the dsplayed pont. The screen wll automatcally termnate the calbraton. Cleanng the screen The devce features a specal cleanng functon n order to avod actvatng unntentonal functons when removng drt, fnger prnts etc.. Whle the cleanng functon s actve, touchng the screen surface wll cause no acton. Actvate Cleanng functon. The touch wll not be evaluated for the duraton of 1 mnute. The devce dsplays the remanng cleanng tme on the screen. The devce wll return to the servce page once the cleanng tme has ended. Clean the screen surface wth a soft cloth. Vewng the message lst Open the Servce page Open System settngs Select message lst. The devce wll dsplay the current fault messages. Adjustng basc brghtness The screen wll swtch nto the energy savng basc brghtness after several mnutes of nonuse. Press Dsplay settngs. Press Brghtness settngs. Select basc brghtness: Brght, Dm or Off. The new settng wll be vsble as soon as the devce swtches back nto the basc brghtness. Settng the date Open System settngs. Select Date. Enter the current date. Sequence: DD.MM.YYYY. Accept the entry by pressng Save. Invald entres wll not be accepted. Settng the tme of day Open System settngs. Select Tme of day. Enter the current tme of day. Sequence: HH:MM. Enter the tme of day n the 24 hour mode. Accept the entry by pressng Save. Invald entres wll not be accepted. Settng the day of the week Open System settngs. Select Day of the week, select the current day of the week Accept the entry by pressng Save. Vewng the servce address Open System settngs. Select Servce address. The pre-set mantenance wll be dsplayed. Changng the colour settngs The colour settng s vsble only f programmed. Open System settngs. Select Colour settngs. Select desred colour scheme. Accept the entry by pressng Save. Resettng to default Select Admnstrator. Select Default settngs. A confrmaton request appears on the screen askng whether the default settng s to be restored and whether all user data s to be deleted. In case the user data s not to be deleted: Press No. In case the default settng s to be restored: Press Yes. The devce ntalzes, the settng wll be restored to default. Lght scenes wll be deleted (names and values). Tmer data wll be deleted. Selected colour scheme and basc brghtness wll be reset. Fault messages wll be deleted. Calbraton data wll be reset to the standard settng. The functon wll be logged n the past events memory. Project data and passwords are not affected when restorng the default settng. 2/07 Page 5 of 8

6 Changng the password Select Admnstrator. Select passwords. Select the desred password level. Enter the new password. Accept the entry by pressng Save. Vewng the verson The Verson page dsplays the current software verson. Select Admnstrator. Select Verson. Vewng the past events The devce saves mportant events n the past events memory such as reset or the download of program or project data. Smple operatons wll not be saved. Select Admnstrator. Select Past events. 5. rmaton for qualfed electrcans Fgure 3, bottom sde DANGER! Electrc shock n case of accdental contact wth lve parts. Electrc shocks may be fatal. If possble, load the physcal address nto the devce before the fnal nstallaton (startup). (8) (7) BUS + L N Install the flush-mountng box n the correct poston - horzontally or vertcally algned - n the wall. Horzontal nstallaton: Arrow OBEN TOP ponts upwards. Vertcal nstallaton: Arrow OBEN TOP ponts to the left. Pull bus and 230 V lnes through the approprate bushngs. Remove desgn frame (16) from the devce. Connect mans voltage AC 230 V to termnal (7). 7 . 4 Downloadng the user software Recommendaton: Due to large data volumes t s recommended to program the user software va the ntegrated USB nterface (14). The connecton to the PC requres a USB lne wth plug type B. The user software and the USB drver has to be nstalled before the devce s connected to the PC. Fgure 4, nstallaton nto a flush-mountng box Install the devce n flush-mountng box (17). Attach desgn frame (16) and press on. If applcable, remove protectve fol. 5.2 Startup Downloadng the physcal address The devce must have been connected and ready for use. Programmng key (10) and LED (9) on the bottom sde of the devce must be accessble. Confguraton and startup wth ETS2 verson 1.3a or ETS3.0d. Press programmng key (10). The programmng LED s llumnated. Assgn the physcal address. The programmng LED (9) ceases to be llumnated. Note the physcal address on the bottom sde of the devce. The drvers are ntalzed when the devce s connected for the frst tme to the PC. The correspondng access rghts are requred. Some PC operatng systems perform a check durng the ntalzaton (when the devce s connected for the frst tme to the PC) whether the USB drvers are certfed. The correspondng messages can be gnored and the nstallaton contnued. Connect only one devce to the PC. After nstallaton of the devce: Remove desgn frame (16) from the devce. The USB nterface can be accessed (14) at the left edge of the devce V n case of a vertcal nstallaton at the lower edge. Establsh a connecton wth the programmng PC va the USB lne. Program the user software. After programmng, dsconnect the USB termnal and attach and press on the desgn frame (16). 2/07 Page 7 of 8
